  1. Wake bait and a spook have two totally different actions. About the only thing in common is that they are a topwater bait. What wake baits are you asking about specifically?
  2. What new law are you referencing? I don't know of any federal legislation that's causing a stir and I don't really follow CO law too much.
  3. Just because I'm on a musky kick right now, Deps 250 and a Huddleston 8" If we're talking bass, jig and a Mattlures Hardgill.
  4. Again, different situations call for different tools. The Savage has a more aggressive action than then Huddleston. I'd tend to use it more in warmer water and also in general as it fits the way I fish better.
  5. Nope. Don't get hung up on size either. The bass you want to be catching have no issue eating 8" baits.
  6. Your point?
  7. QUE? A glide bait and a jerkbait are nowhere near the same category. Bill, you'll find that the bigger/heavier baits do more of the actual "gliding" action. The smaller baits in that category do not carry the momentum required to get a wide glide. The River 2 Sea S-waver in 168 and 200 is a decent bait at their respective price points. Savage Gear is coming out with a bigger glide later this year. It's around 8". When you start talking Deps, Roman Made, Hinkle, etc, you're going to get into paying some serious money for a single bait. I'm a big fan of the Deps 250. It's about the most entertaining bait to fish that I can think of. I don't know of another bait that can entice and reveal the number of big fish it has for me. Even if they don't eat it, knowing they are in the area is a big confidence boost.
  8. Color is the least of your consideration with these, especially with the floater. Pick a color you are confident in and fish it. It's a great bait at a great price point.
  9. I think this statement carries a TON of weight, even past the confines of a single day. (Sorry to be nitpicking Bill, but niche ) Catt has dedicated a great portion of his fishing to learning how to fish jigs effectively. It's his comfort zone or niche. He's found success with it so naturally, for him, the best option is likely to be a jig. I fish jigs. I really like fishing jigs. I have not had the success with big fish caught on jigs that Catt and many other guys have. I've dedicated the better part of the last 8 years or so to fishing swimbaits. It has become my niche, my comfort zone. I feel confident with a swimbait in my hand and I believe that lends itself to fishing intently in high percentage areas for big fish. In my personal fishing, bigger baits have equated to bigger bass. The way I fish a lot of swimbaits, a jig is just not a viable tool for the job. Fish your comfort zone. YOURS, not someone else's. A jig, swimbait, spinnerbait, drop shot....none are a magic bullet that work 100% of the time and they surely all require time and patience to master. In the right hands, I do believe bigger baits equal bigger fish. I also believe that in the right hands, MANY different baits can equal bigger fish.
  10. Personally, I hope fewer and fewer guys throw swimbaits.
  11. I'd get a 9" and be done with it. The 7" is too thin IMO. The mini is OK but the lack of a second hook is a big drawback to me.
  12. Yeah, I don't know why that other one got posted. Lol, not paying attention again. Surprise, surprise.
  13. Pretty sure I'd be OK as a technical criminal in that situation. Call me crazy...
  14. I mistakenly posted the video in this thread. my mistake fellas. This is the correct one. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/142129-this-is-the-video-i-meant-to-post/
  15. Sorry about that. This video is the one with the bent out 4X Gammy hook and the big hookset. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sg9-B9d0Yv8
  16. Don't. That's a 4x gammy hook at the end of the video and that's about as hard of a hookset you'll see. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AlBszfj5olk Thanks for watching.
  17. 250mm of Deps Flash Carp goodness.
  18. There we go! Great idea.
  19. Fanny packs make me question the judgment of any person...
  20. Okuma Guide Select Big Bait 7'6" H. Find it on sale and it's even better. That's a good entry rod that performs very well. You can obviously spend quite a bit more from there...
  21. 800.300.4916 If you know what you want, just call them.
  22. I'm researching making my own 100lb fluoro leaders and affixing them directly to some soft baits. I'm not a fan of all the heavy hardware on pre-tied leaders.
  23. Got out the other night and stuck another musky on the big bait. Rolled a few other fish and got bit off by a BIG one on the Huddleston. Good times!
  24. I stopped hanging out with people who drink 40's about 20 years ago.
  25. Amazon Prime is definitely worth it, especially for this deal. Thanks for the heads up AJay
