I too live in a relatively "crime free" neighborhood. Kids playing in the streets, people walking their dogs, etc. Earlier this week, two men broke into a home 1 block from my house. They shot a man while he was sleeping. No details released, but I assume some type of vendetta or drugs are involved. "Not in my neighborhood" doesn't really apply in today's America, unfortunately.

Check out the Ruger LCP before buying the Keltec for a CCW. I was set on a keltec until a buddy let me shoot the keltec and the LCP side by side. Just a suggestion. Been considering adding a Keltec to my group. Please let me know what you didn't like about it. Two of the guys in my hunting club drive for Brinks, so a good CCW is a must. They both own Keltec pistols and they love them. They are essentially the same gun along with the new Taurus 380. They are based off the Keltec (original design). The fit and finish of the LCP feels a little nicer, but it seems to have a longer trigger pull, IMO. Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem owning any of the three. There is that little difference to me. These are not designed to be 25yd pistols; more or less "belly guns" for when the poop hits the fan. While you can shoot them accurately at some distance, that is not their intended use and are designed as such. Again, all IMO.

Jack, I have the PT145 and my wife carries the PT140 (hers has the stainless slide). I love my Taurus pistols, wouldnt trust my life with one if I wasn't confident with it. I also just put a Ruger GP100 on lay away at work. Will be picking it up in a week. Man, speedbead, that's a big gun for a woman. Packs a decent punch when you pull the trigger. My wife does not like the recoil, so we put a dainty .380 in her hand. Was not sure about it until i took it to the range. Really like the way it shoots. I also have the Springfield XD40, that i like. You ought to see her group center mass shots with that 40. Pops a head shot just to show off sometimes. My wife is a CO in a prison. Dainty she aint. ;D And OHIO, like Dan I work at an FFL dealer. Like he said, if I think you are there to buy PISTOL ammo then you won't be buying it. I would rather turn someone away than sell to an underage person.

The nice thing about the bbz 6" is the fact that it's only 20 bucks. Buy two, they're cheap. If I had to pick just one, however, it would be the SS. More versatile, IMO.

I'd say 15% are great, 50% are fine, and 35% absolutely suck. That's just in my limited experience. I would say those percentages apply to all people, everywhere. Remember, LEOs are people too and not immune to those percentages. Sorry you had a bad experience with one.
