  1. Yes, I bend the hook SLIGHTLY to one side or the other and then skin hook it. It does improve hook ups dramatically over the straight hook.
  2. Same thing with the Strike King 3X plastics. That's a no no
  3. Get a Hudd then.
  4. I got to throw one of the new ones a couple weeks ago and I also believe that it rides a little higher in the water. It was not my bait so I didnt get to experiment with it but I'm sure I'll get one to put through a torture test at some point.
  5. ABS body with a soft plastic shell on the new ones Urethane body with soft plastic shell on the OGs
  6. He ain't the only one with that many.
  7. Simple, diameter and shock absorbing qualities. If you backlash with a 1oz bait on a good cast with 30lb braid, it's GOING to snap. Not maybe, GOING TO. You start upping that to 2, 3, 5oz baits it only serves to magnify the distance with which your bait is gonna travel without your line attached to it.
  8. You're gonna need to bump up that 30lb braid man. 20lb mono or copoly is pretty standard for the baits you mention, with a little variance either up or down depending on desired effect. As far as leaders, I'd stick with a heavier fluoro leader as opposed to a steel one.
  9. FWIW, I have heard Green Penny is typically softer.
  10. Here's one. I'll space it out so sensory overload is avoided
  11. I'm with Ajay in the "can't hurt" camp. Definitely slicks up a soft bait to help slide out of the mouth, through weeds, etc. I'm using two, Megastrike and Pro Cure.
  12. Oh man, all in baby!! Let's do this!
  13. LOL, funny enough I came across a 250 the other day I didn't realize I had. It's a sickness. Thankfully, there are many more that have the affliction worse than I. Also thankful that I'm lucky enough to be pretty tight with some of the best swimbait makers on the planet. The internet is apparently good for some things If I remember, I'll get a shot of some badass garage pours I recently acquired.
  14. This was a special run he did. I believe retail on these in the future will be around 120.
  15. If price isn't much of an issue, I prefer the original Trash Fish over the Sick Fish. Softer plastic and livelier action in the bait. Downside is they don't last as long but you can always use Mend It or another soft bait glue to prolong the life of the baits.
  16. Tackle companies love this. To the OP, let your results show what you're worth. Getting noticed through your performance is a high compliment, strive for that. Also, IMO, "a few baits here and there" and the word "sponsorship" do not belong in the same sentence. Keep fishing. Keep getting better. Work on your interpersonal skills. Eat your vitamins and say your prayers. (I grew up with Hulk Hogan LOL)
  17. Lena Lures Glide Pretty impressive in hand.
  18. My only concern with adding a treble to the top of the bait for this purpose would be adding top weight to a bait that is already proving to be unstable in motion. There are TONS of reports out there of baits running incorrectly out of the package, leaning to a side. If you try this, it may exacerbate the problem without adding some type of counter weight on the bottom of the bait. Just a thought. LOL Edit: Just re-read where you say the hook goes on the bottom. Disregard.

    Scope Rings

I like both Millett and Leupold rings. I've not had issues with either of them.
  20. I understand the concept of supply and demand. I understand making a couple bucks off a hard to source bait. I can even understand buying a hard to source bait, fishing it and deciding it's not for you. What I don't understand is your cavalier attitude while not having a job and buying a bait you had ZERO intentions to fish. That's beat man.
  21. Gander Mountain should also have some frames for you to try.
  22. Make sure you visit a store and try some on. Costa breaks down frame sizes on their website but it's still best to fit them to your face. You want the frame to fit along your face but also you want as little gap as possible between your cheeks and bottom of frames to prevent light penetration. The Man O War and Fisch are good choices. I like Zanes personally.
