  1. finding any kind of loomis always makes the trip worth it.....sounds like it's a good time to scan the shores for lures that need a new warm jacket!
  2. that's a toad Matt! you ever try punchin through those weeds out there?
  3. some great lookin' fish man I can see why your chaisin' them! if your interested in writing try and start a blog somewhere the more readers you can take with you the more marketable you are....good luck

  9. it's about time? :-? ;D you lucky b-stard...that's a d**n nice jig fish I'm jealous!
  10. It's funny how it always takes someone from a state other than Cali to convince someone that swimbaits work elsewhere. I've heard more than a few stories of guys absolutely smashing giants on the east coast...you just don't read about it..why cause they want the fish all to themselves! very nice HC I can't wait to read your reports in the future!
  11. say what?.... shouldn't you be out paying your dues catchin' the skunk...no one out here get's that lucky! nice article Jay.... guys could learn somethin' by that read
  12. wait till you start gettin' them 8lb+ follows you'll be counting sick days in no time make sure you put the weight near the belly man that logo is tight! although I see it being replaced with a swimbait fish/lure ;D
  13. there's nothin' better than watchin' guys walk on uncharted ground! just wait till them nights get warm! 8-)
  14. it's so nice to see other guys outside of Cali catch swimbait fish! The color of that Slammer is great! black n' red works very well out here...brokejew needs to earn his stripes still ;D
  15. I love reading fish stories like that! why? because it's happened to me! LOL I had a monster hit me at my feet and break off brand new 25lb Izorline. I remember like it was yesterday and ended up sitting on that spot for about four weekends in a row for 40+ hours! I did end up getting a nice fish on that spot but it wasn't her. The spot you speak of sounds like a great spot to deadstick a floating swimbait, big jig,or anything else that imparts action while sitting still. The more you cast to that spot the more you will educate her peel some line off and stay out of site. Also think exactly what time of day she hit, moon phase, when exactly on the outgoing tide did she hit,how big was the tide..etc.. it's good to take notes good luck!
  16. Butch is the man! he is one of the few trophy hunters that doesn't bed fish and can still stroke them! a well deserved catch. What is that fish like #902?
  17. ya know that plastic lip is visible and I did say semi where's the line start?
  18. man the color of that fish is amazing! if I was to take a pic for a replica that would be the one! great contrast and all the markings a toad largie should have. That fish is pushin' 12 imo had you held her horizontal we'd really get to see her belly. nice fish...that lure looks semi familiar Brock
  19. nice tank! cheers to a new pb! I wish I could have found her last week. I know I was on that SPOT!
  20. nice report Jay..I was thinking of going and spectating but thought a few lakes would finally turn on with the storms :-/ Don's a good guy I'm glad he won it and brought the belt to Norcal. That belt is pretty sweet but not half as sweet as the guys personal collection! it is retarded good luck at Clear Lake...they should open the field up to a few hundred for that place!
  21. sounds like the time I went to the mall with my buddy and his older bro. We got there just before closing and my bud's bro runs in to beat the doors. My dumb @$$ hops out of the back seat and slams this monster door from a grand tourino on my middle, ring, and pinky finger. Just my luck the effin' door was locked! I had to wait for my friend to get back while my fingers were smashed knuckle deep! talk about the longest 5 minutes of shock congrats on the W sounds like you were fishin' hOrroville? as for the triple trout atleast the paint job already sucks!
  22. Dobyns or Powell 766 or 765 if you want more tip.
  23. considering I know where you fish at....you need another swimbait rod for either smaller baits (I use my SX all the time for them) or if your willing to kick out 2 bills throw down on an Okuma and a Cardiff...used they'd be under $200....or maybe a fish finder?!?!?
  24. I was hoping for the same thing with the conditions we had but blanked...nice fish them spots like to tug ay? still yet to get me a fish on my 10" TT
  25. I normally take some deep breathes and stop and REALLY think about how that fish got hooked. Then try to run that pattern. Then go home lose some sleep and do it all over again until I catch something big enough to help ease the pain.
