  1. i went with the garmin striker 7sv for my kayak had to many issues with the lowrance elite 7 ti. I dont need the maps, i fish the same 8 bodies of water over and over and if i cant figure out what is where there is a problem. I have a cell phone to tell me new bodies of water to . But i can still map way points and have a tracking option to get back to where I staretd which is great.. and to save 300 $ off the next comparable unit is a no brainer
  2. I caught 10 at Kittamiqundi yesterday on 1.5s
  3. Lowrances customer service rep told me about this, and I had already tried that, even had the transducers sitting inside a bucket full of water. I havent had a chance to install this latest unit but I will look over the connections and wiring again, everything is heat shrunk at the moment and tapped up with the fuse installed. Hoping it atleast works on the water.
  4. yeah thought that was the case to, but i re did everything already. had my father take a look and redo everything. Its a known issues with lowrance as they say these units have trouble running under 18 amps .. which is over load for a kayak
  5. I had recently purchased a Raymarine Dragon Fly 7 pro for my kayak and really loved the clear picture, however after 3 trips and tuning and call to their customer service i was unable to remove the "noise" from the screen. It over took the entire page. So i returned this item and got the Lowrance Elite 7 TI just downscan for my hobie kayak. I got home, eager to play I plugged it in, and the touchscreen did not work. I made a few posts on facebook only to find out if i hold either battery terminal or either wire, it works. But after a few calls to lowrance i was basically told theres nothing they can do, just install it and it will work on the water.. okay thats great and all, but i want to be able to look at maps and mark way points before tournaments. I have found about 9-10 people with this same issue. A few days later i figured ill exchange it and get the total scan. This unit worked perfect, even found a few extra settings in this one that the downscan didnt have which i thought was odd.. But after 1 trip i was annoying with how large the transducer is on a kayak. So back that went for another DI unit .. well.. got home last night.. touchscreen doesnt work again.. until i hold the wires. Lowrance had no explanation for me on how to better the ground for this unit in my kayak. Just said put it in the water. which i have heard from others works again, buts thats besides the point for a 700$ unit. Anyway. im kinda irritated by the issues, and have exhausted myself researching other units. Im torn between keeping this TI and using it just on the water. Getting a Hook 7 Garmin Echompa 73dv Or hummingbird helix 7 DI My hobie kayak has a special area to take lowrance transducers with a protective cover in the bottom of the hull, they also make adapters for HB What are you guys thoughts on either how to fix my current unit.. or should i go with Gamrin, HB??

  10. Yeah i have a youtube channel my self, I do mention the kayak shop that im pro staff for, but only for products you can buy there. Usually ill just wear a shirt or put in a very quick picture clip at the end of their name . but if its apart of the contract agreement to promote their name, my shop isnt excessive about it, but it has produced a few customer for them but i agree with what your saying and have a very good idea of the few channels your talking about lol.. they went from very informative and fun to watch to... well now u can basically predict whats coming

  16. no this one does not have chirp. But from info that i looked up. which im not sure if its true or not based on garmins web site. this unit has Chirp down vu and side vu... just not chirp sonar.. the new unit has chirp sonar. and down and side vu.. but same maps.. not a huge difference what so ever
  17. i decided to get a raymarine dragonfly 7 pro. west marine had it on sale for 550 with a Nav + card.. and raymarine has a 150$ mail in rebate ontop of this.
  18. Yes Pure fishing makes all of them. Penn as well. and Berkley, But each Bass pro product is made through a different manufacture.. Like their trolling motors are made by motor guide. the PQ was abu.. the JM were pflueger . they take alot of nice products and remake and them sell them in their stores. browning is also another partner for their rods like the bionic . extreme is made by some one else. its a cycle they use, which is why they are able to go down in price. they are all quality products now a day
  19. i used to work at bass pro the pro qualifier was made by Abu Garcia, it was the Revo S
  20. Does anyone have this unit? If so what are your opinions. Bass Pro has this for 550 next week, and from what im reading the transducer in the sale unit is much better than their "new" unit for 850.. Anyone have any screen shots as well? This is going on a kayak, Hobie Pro Angler 12. Im torn between this, the helix 7 Thanks
  21. Took me a while to even hear of it.. lol
