Heck if he is willing to go 2 piece he can get a St Croix Legend elite for just over $200. Lots of choices in sizes and actions on the St Croix website. The 6'6" light action rod is $198.
For the record that is a $400 pole.
Most reviews I've seen of the Tatula are very good. Check out Sportman's Outfitters online store. They have the Tatula on sale right now for $119 with free shipping.
Sportman's Outfitters has several Daiwa products on sale for a good price. In fact I wish I knew this a month ago but you can pick up the Zillion reel in the 6.3 to 1 ratio and a Tatula rod for $320. I'm not sure if that is free shipping but probably. The Zillion reel costs that much not on sale and with tax. d**n Internet shopping is going to break me.
No problem. Deals are a huge selling point for me and how can you go wrong with free shipping and a free hat! I ordered two (shhh..don't tell my wife) on Saturday and had "buyers non-remorse" and picked up another one the next day and they were delivered by Tuesday very safely packaged.
I don't know how this rod compares to the GL2 but on the St Croix website you could order a 6'8" MH fast action Rage casting rod for $89 free shipping and a free hat. I think they are around the same ballpark in price before sale.
What do you plan to use it for?
I always like to read the reviews on TW. If it is the rod with the microguides you may want to pass. The other version gets solid reviews.
When you're shopping for that new rod/reel what is your go to website where you think you will get your best deal? So far I've had good experiences with TW and American Legacy Fishing, Ebay too. I bought a rod on Amazon and it came in a flimsy cardboard box. Maybe it was the retailer but never again.
Hello my name is Eric and I'm a bass fishing addict. I've been a serious bass fisherman since I've been a teenager but in my late 20's I caught the bug bad when I joined my first bass club. Following about a 8 year hiatus after a divorce I was able to get back in the club last year. Living in the Detroit area suburbs I'm blessed to be 30 minutes from Lk St Clair. Those smallies are sure fun to catch.
Okay nobody played along so let me tell you. The 7'6" medium light spinning rod I was going to give the NED rig a shot and also a drop shot rod. The 7'7" medium action casting rod I was gonna to try as my Keitech swimbait rod. Any thoughts about these choices?
I picked up a 7'6" Dobyns Champion Extreme ML spinning rod that I'm gonna pair with a CI4. The 2nd combo is a 7'7" Daiwa Zillion medium action casting rod with a Daiwa Tataula 6.3 to 1. I have ideas of what I think I should use it for what would you do?
