  1. What colors are you all recommending for clear water?
  2. Shimano Zodias, Phenix M1 or Bass Recon 2. Slightly more than your target price but look for deals to put them in your target price range.
  3. Natural color tubes. Greens, browns, smoke. They work!
  4. It shouldn't be much longer A-Jay. I'm hoping to get out sometime next week on St Clair.
  5. What's the better drop shot bait Yum warning shot or Strike King dream shot?
  6. You should be fine with those size rods.
  7. I was looking at that one last night. I still really like the looks of the TW bag but backordered until August is crazy.
  8. Is that the Okuma backpack from TW? That link doesn't work.
  9. It's not for shore fishing just transporting my tackle bag to the boaters boat. I've got alot of stuff lol.
  10. I'm looking at picking up a backpack style tackle bag. I really like the looks and price of the TW brand but it's listed out until August. Anybody have one that is similar to that size and price. I believe it was around $60 off the top of my head. Thoughts on that style tackle bag also. I'm a non-boater so I thought it would free up my hands more.
  11. Okay the 6' one you could use more for topwater and maybe jerkbaits but I still say the 7' would make a decent soft plastics rod.
  12. I'd say more soft plastics. MHF sounds perfect for that.
  13. Check out the Dobyns Champion line. They are priced right at what you are looking to spend.
  14. I use a size 1 hook and 6 pound test and catch lots of nice size St Clair smallmouth. There are days when other techniques will out fish a dropshot. Then there the days that you will be glad you learned the technique. Stick with it. It will pay off.
  15. Try to find a Stradic FH, FJ or FK on discount on Ebay.
  16. Okay specifically speaking the Daiwa Zillion.
  17. How do the regular action blanks from Japanese rod makers compare to American rod makers? Is it a true moderate or moderate fast or do they run a little faster or slower? Thanks.
  18. https://www.*.com/G-Loomis-IMX-Bass-Spinning-Rods-p/g-loomis-imxbassspin.htm?e=Y IMX on sale join the mailing list puts it under $200. I'll let you decide if you want the 852 or 853.
  19. How do you plan to fish? Also what's alot of money? You could put yourself into a Daiwa Tatula reel and Dobyns Fury rod for under $200. Is that alot of money for you? There are people on here that won't flinch spending $400 on a reel. Everyone has a different comfort zone. Also are you looking for a casting rod/reel or spinning?
  20. You ain't kidding. Looks like are from the same general area. I made a few casts from shore from Stony Creek on Friday evening and was hoping to get out with my buddy on the boat maybe today. And then we get snow. What the heck!
  21. I don't think he meant it to come across so insulting. I think it was in good fun and I took it that way. That's one thing about written words not always easy to understand when people are kidding around.
  22. That 21.5 pounds of smallies in my profile picture, all on sissy stick. Just sayin....
  23. That's why you have to use a spinning setup I guess it's all what we're accustomed to. If I tried to accurately cast a baitcaster I'd end up stuck in the tree or with a bird's nest. Easy for me to just chuck and wind them on St Clair where there are no targets within a 360 radius.
