  1. If anyone is looking for a G Loomis GLX jig worm rod 6'8" medium XF action spinning rod today is your lucky day because Dick's Sporting Goods is blowing them out for $299.99 regularly $410.
  2. Sportman's Outfitters for the Daiwa rods.
  3. That's was pretty much the reason I bought them but the more I throw a drop shot the less I throw a tube. I'm having alot of success with a drop shot right now so it's hard to put it down.
  4. Rod- G Loomis NRX 872s Reel- Shimano Stradic FJ 2500. Line- Sunline SX1 16 pound braid with a Sunline Sniper 7 pound fluorocarbon Switch over to braid to fluoro leader it's amazing. I recommend either the 12 or 16 pound Sunline SX1 to which fluoro you want.
  5. I got a little (or alot) carried away this offseason and bought 2 G Loomis NRX 872s rods when they were on sale. I really didn't have a dedicated use for them. I had my first tournament this weekend and ended up using both as my drop shot rods. I really liked it for that purpose but I also prefer a longer rod. Anybody else use that rod for that purpose?
  6. x4 on the Tatula. I found mine on Walmart.com but they seem to have a pretty depleted inventory. Sportman's Outfitters has them at $119 and free shipping which is a solid deal. Actually dropped them down to $109 now. Get one. http://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/daiwa-tatula-freshwater-baitcast-fishing-rods/
  7. What model NRX are you fishing it with? I can't see it on my phone.
  8. Are you guys using braid with fluoro or straight fluorocarbon to fish these?
  9. Watch an underwater video of the action. It's pretty impressive.
  10. You guys are killing me. I thought I had ordered everything I needed from the TW sale and then I see this thread. New to Fat Ikas, looks like something I need to add to the arsenal. This website is gonna break me lol.
  11. I used to fish straight fluoro for finesse applications and you'll find yourself changing your line about every 4-5 outings. I finally got on board with braid and a fluoro leader that's the way to go.
  12. I did well with Fluke Jr in the regular and paddle tail versions. I liked pearl white and white ice for colors.
  13. I've been eyeing the 6.95 size worm to try on a Neko rig. Anyone else fish it this way? What colors do you like?
  14. If my line keeps breaking for sure. I just increased my line from 10 to 14 too. Hopefully that will help with the fluorocarbon.
  15. I'm still figuring all this stuff out. It's getting costly at $20 a spool for fluoro.
  16. Just curious to why you say you won't go under 8 on the dial for fluorocarbon. I bought some Tatulas in the offseason and I've been having some issues with my line breaking in the middle of the spool. I thought it possibly due to backlash issues.
  17. I have not used it but I saw it was one of the less expensive fluorocarbon lines out there. I read some of the reviews from TW and passes on it. I went with the Sunline Sniper instead.
  18. I'd keep the Daiwa Tatula 7'4" heavy frog rod in there too. If you research the reviews it gets good reviews. It retails for $150 but you can find it for $120. Match that with the Daiwa reel...boom!
  19. I find the Daiwa Tatula 100 a pretty good reel for a "beginner" at an affordable cost. MSRP is $150 but it can be found new on Ebay or Amazon for less than $95.
  20. There are plenty of excellent videos on YouTube you can view. Brett Hite is one of the tour pros that excels at fishing a Chatterbait.
  21. This guy today on a drop shot. Had a good day.
  22. 5 inch senko with a 3/0 Gamagatsu EWG hook Texas rigged. Cast it next to the edge of the lilly pads or the weedline to deeper water and hold on.
  23. Just trying to help him be more effective on the water. No bait works all the time. But Keitech's are pretty darn good. Plus they catch big fish.
  24. Swimbait heads. They are weighted.
