  1. Yah if you remember my post on what's that one secret bait it was all about the Bubbring shakers. Great lures whether you drop shot them, neko rig or shakyhead like you mentioned.
  2. Brad not picking on you at all just wasn't sure of your reference of wobble heads. Mr. Team9 did a great job with the local education.
  3. I'm still trying to figure out if this is an April Fools post or not!
  4. Personally I'd go less 12-16 pound braid with your 7 to 8 pound leader for a finesse set-up should be great. Use mono backing first though so you don't use so much braid.
  5. Do you use braid to fluorocarbon on your spinning set-up? Because that alone might add to the sensitivity that you feel.
  6. Ouch! How are they about replacing the broken ones? Or are you eating the cost?
  7. Yep musky could definitely be a factor when using that $25 jerkbait.
  8. Bubbring shaker
  9. I don't have a problem spending the $7 to $8 they charge for a pack of senkos because of the confidence I have using them. But I was wondering does spending $25 on a jerkbait give you extra confidence to fish a Megabass when you could buy 2 Duo Realis or 1.5 Lucky Craft for the same cost? I've done some research on the MB jerkbaits sounds like the biggest issue is the bills breaking off. Are they worth the price?
  10. Agreed. I was thinking maybe a Keitech so they could target the thump the tail gives off.
  11. Yes it will be disappointing because all of your rods aren't NRX. You know they say, once you go NRX...
  12. Those are 3 solid choices. I would add a Daiwa Tatula also. Those can be found online between $100 and $110. Can't go wrong with any of those. Never owned an Irod but I have the other 3 and they are all good rods.
  13. My boss ordered this reel so I got to touch it a few days ago. Awesome reel. I'd go 6.3 for most general applications 7.9 for pitching/flipping/frogging. To me the 6.3 has more uses but depends what you need it for.
  14. That is a great score. My buddy was telling once about his Walmart put almost everything from the fishing section minus rods in a cart for $.50/each. He said there were packs of senkos, Gamakatsu hooks, crank baits, odd spools of line. You can score big if you have the time to look.
  15. I'm going to give the Duo Realis 120sp a shot. Ordered it in Morning Dawn. Anybody have experience with those?
  16. Seeing everyone else's posts (I responded to the other post) I realize I could probably have a top 25 plastic bait list. You don't realize that you rely on so many until you see it in list format lol
  17. I won't rank them but I'll give you a top 10. Senko Fluke Keitech Fat Impact Berkley power worm Jackall cross tail shad Yamamoto shad shaped worm 4 to 5" grub Beaver bait Erie Darter Rage Tail craw
  18. Read the NRX post in rods and reels forum it mentions a place you can get demo rods cheaper. Last year TW had a sale and so did Monster Fishing Tackle and I picked up 2 new rods for $699 which isn't bad since MSRP is $550. We fished Lake Fenton 2 years ago for a tournament. It was a tough day for me though I caught a dozen short fish I didn't get one to measure.
  19. Where are you from in Michigan? I'm a Michigan guy too. Mainly fish St Clair with some local inland lakes too. I like the G Loomis NRX 872s as my drop shot rod. Personally like a longer rod for those smallmouth making runs at the boat.
  20. What's your best jerkbaits that you use for value (produces at a minimum cost)? And what's your jerkbait you're going to in a tournament and money is on the line and you're not afraid a musky will eat it
  21. It seems like they all have their place. I've bought several packages of them to try. I got the Rage Craw, the beaver style and the menace grub. Looking forward to giving them a shot.
  22. You can drop shot most shot plastic baits, including any of the crawfish type baits. One on my favorites is the Yamamoto shad shaped worms.
  23. A demo is something that was likely brought to various fishing shows and handled. It should not have been fished with. If you think about it, it's really no different than the rods on the shelf at the store. You don't know who did what to the rod that you just bought. Good savings!
  24. Get a Dobyns Fury for around $110 and a Daiwa Tatula reel for around $100 and pocket $100 for a later date.
