  1. I'm a member of the RBA also. But for me it's rod buyers anonymous! I'm constantly searching the Internet for great deals.
  2. President reel and a St. Croix Bass X rod. Check out American Legacy fishing they will send you a $25 discount code if you sign up on the mailing list. Dobyns Fury would be a good choice also.
  3. Why put an $800 reel on a $200 rod? Shimano CI4 or Daiwa has some nice offerings in the $200 range. I'd grab 2 NRX's for that price tag first.
  4. Senkos, Strike King rodent plastics, couple of Strike King Red Eye shad and a top water bait. Zoom flukes too. That would be a great start. From Dick's get some Keitech swimbaits too
  5. Doesn't Tackle warehouse have a 4th of July sale? I know they just ran a Memorial weekend sale.
  6. Hello Sarah. They get bigger for a reason because they are smarter than the average 2 pounder. Be stealthy. Throw senkos. Learn to drop shot. Keep watching your Youtube videos. I do almost daily. I really like Tactical Bassin'. Those guys are good.
  7. They are awesome rods. You will enjoy them. I had two 7'3" medium spinning rods but figured I didn't need 2 of the exact same rods so I sold one. Kinda wish I hadn't now.
  8. Rig it with a TRD worm on the bottom instead. My boater did after I caught I had caught 4 to his 0 in that location. He did cull a fish on that.
  9. The one fish I did catch on the drop shot did break the bottom portion of the drop shot knot off under the hook. I'm probably lucky that one stayed buttoned.
  10. Yes I agree but tube jig fishing is boring. Plus it seems more snaggy. I don't know if you are familiar with the Z-man tubez but they are only 2.75".
  11. How are you fishing it that you are breaking off that often? I rarely have issues with that. Consider using a lighter weight if you are snagging up so much. Generally they say use as light of a weight as you can get away with.
  12. I tried this trick during a tournament yesterday on St Clair and boy am I glad that I did. Tie your normal drop shot rig but instead of using the weight on the bottom I used a Zman tube. You could also use a TRD worm if you prefer. But anyway out of the 4 keepers I caught on that rig 3 were on the tube. Make sure to check your local regulations and make sure that is legal.
  13. Is your wife going to quit shopping for shoes? Of course not, you keep on buying
  14. I'm not familiar with that.
  15. Al, Try the caffeine shad on the back of a fishhead underspin.
  16. Got a tournament on St Clair on Saturday. I'll likely be on your side of the pond.
  17. Avid X is a newer updated Avid but not necessarily better. But yes you want to pick one of those 2 in that price range.
  18. Can anybody explain the difference in application between the NRX 852 and 872? And don't say 2" Both of the lure rating are the same. Thanks
  19. I guess I didn't understand the part about setting the hook on weeds took it as a negative. Okay good because I just bought a 7'1" M spinning Mojo SCIII from Field and Stream yesterday because I had a 20% off coupon that was expiring and it was burning to be used
  20. This was two weeks ago from tomorrow. Easily caught 50+ fish that day almost all on a drop shot.
  21. NHBull I know this isnt answering your question but a drop shot is one of those rods I have tied on every time I hit the water.
  22. What are you a saying? You don't like your Mojo?
