  1. G Loomis either GLX or NRX with a slight nod given to the NRX if you have the extra cash.
  2. I think you would peg it in heavy weed growth otherwise just let the weight slide freely on your line.
  3. Find yourself the shallow flats that have access to deep water drop offs nearby preferably the deepest holes you can find. Those will be classic wintering holes and the fish should be coming to the flats during the peak warming hours of the day usually afternoon in the spring. Jerkbaits, Ned rigs, blade baits.
  4. Congrats on 25 years. Lake St Clair is an amazing fishery. My buddies son got a 7 pounder out there last spring.
  5. So are you planning your trip as a family vacation or is this all about fishing? If this is a fishing trip I'd plan to come 2 or 3 weeks earlier. The weather will be nicer in June but likely a good portion of the smallies will have spawned by then so you will be dealing with fish in a post spawn funk. If you are dead set on coming then bring some 3 to 4" grubs and swim them back on a 1/8 or 3/16 ounce jighead. As far as places to fish most people either fish the Mile Roads or Anchor Bay. Canadian waters are still closed at this time.
  6. I think I'd be lucky to get $1 per lure and I have around 10 of them. Not knowing the manufacturer makes them difficult to sell online.
  7. By Janns, do you mean Jann's Netcraft?
  8. That looks exactly like my bottom picture. I'd agree that is the same manufacturer. I'm trying to sell these for a friend so i appreciate the info.
  9. I'm thinking it could be something offbrand and maybe even got them in a kit. It doesn't look far off from walleye lures.
  10. Honestly that's a great opportunity for you. If you don't join this year consider next year. I have been a non-boater in the club for about 10 years off and on. Great group of guys.
  11. I am trying to identify this crankbait my friend has it as a mid depth diver. It may be a generic brand i don't see anything on the lure. It's weird how the bill is half painted. Thanks for any help you may have. Actually he has a shallow runner of this type too if that helps.
  12. What area of SE michigan are you in? If you are interested in tournament fishing on a small scale I grew as a fisherman by joining as a non-boater the Sterling Heights bass anglers. They have a website you can check out. I rejoined them for next season though i live in west Michigan. Not alot of club availability for nonboaters out this way.
  13. Lol. Yah i was being a little facetious of northern living. There have been years my buddies got out on St Clair in March. I'll probably get out in April but more consistently get out by May. It's snowed before in early May too so you never know. It can be really tough that time of the year depending on how quick the ice melts. The wind and water clarity will be a big factor. I know they do good with blade baits early in the season. You can also yo-yo retrieve lipless baits too.
  14. Good evening from the snowy north. The snow has finally started melting and my "Gone Fishing" sign just peeked out from the 3 foot tall snow drift and saw its shadow. Only 10 more weeks of winter to go. We should be good to go by May 1st when you all are too hot down south.
  15. I'm a big fan of the green pumpkin watermelon laminate senko. I have alot of confidence with that bait tied on.
  16. He has some vintage lipless baits if you look at my post from Saturday. He has some Swimmin minnows, Pico perch, Heddon super sonics, some Castaic soft bait swimbaits. It's dangerous for me, i know. One man's trash is another's treasure!
  17. I'm helping a buddy thin out some tackle. He had some what he called Fenwick lipless crankbaits in pretty new condition so i told him I'd buy those from him. Anybody have any experience in the Fenwick lipless crankbaits how they compare to the others? They look really nice but i can't find much online about them. In fact, it doesn't look like they don't sell them anymore or maybe they were bought out.
  18. You are pretty good at digging up the archive stuff. I think the majority of those colors are for the Pico Chico. I can't tell them apart, they all look the same. Thanks for looking though.
  19. Thank you for the color chart A-Jay. Can you find me one for the Pico perch lures?
  20. My dad used to fish those original Bayou Boogies so i knew it was close but not quite the same lure.
  21. Are you sure on the Pico swimmin minnow? A friend of mine gave me vintage tackle to sell on Ebay so i want to list it properly. He did have some lures called Pico perch. Thank you for all the replies everyone that is very helpful. I may need some more lure ID help later.
  22. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer of this vintage lure. It is stamped Swimmin minnow on the belly. I assume that is the model and not the manufacturer. Thanks for any help you might have.
  23. I think it was the 1/10 ounce.
  24. I used to use a GLX 892s for Ned rigs and it worked great.
  25. Thin wall tubes. Before senkos took off i remember using tubes with either a 1/16 or 1/8 jighead and casting to targets. The light jighead encourages a spiral fall and to me represents a wounded baitfish. Used to do well fishing like that.
