Speaking of weightless Keitechs I'd been thinking about fishing 2 on a donkey type rig like the double fluke rig with a steady retrieve. Anyone ever try that before?
I'd take it in a second but I'll let someone that doesn't own a Huk fishing shirt get it. My Daiwa/Huk shirt i got a few years back is actually my favorite one!
How much? I'd probably buy them for sure but Huk fishing shirts account for 90% of my non-work wardrobe and I'm sure my wife would want me to wear something different.
What type of line? Braid? Fluorocarbon? Mono? Mono has the most stretch and might require the most hook set. Personally i think reeling down into the bite is best for the moderate rod that you mentioned.
What kind of rod are you using (power and action)? Specifically what type of line are you using? Depending on your answers that will help better instruct you.
100% of my confidence in fishing a senko is casting and letting fall on a slack line. I will cast it out let it sit lift and drop 3 times and then reel in. I have 0% confidence working it back to the boat.
I have a NRX 872s and a GLX 892s both rods I got at a sale price. That I think you'd love. When Tacklewarehouse does their 15 or 20% off sales does that include G Loomis rods? If it does stretch your budget and hold out for a GLX. The problem is once you go there you want to upgrade all your rods.
My experience speaking in general. G Loomis sets the standard for power. St Croix runs on the heavy side of power. Dobyns runs on the lighter side. Abu Garcia runs on the heavy side.
The way TRD worm floats up off the bottom I think that willow blade might restrict it's actions. Probably better off on bigger worms like senkos, flick shake, Zoom trick worm, etc.
Doesn't seem worth sending it back for $75 for an insert. However keep that warranty in mind if you break your rod, for $75 they send you a new $150 rod.
Is this a spinning reel or casting reel? Because 12 pound XT which has a thicker than normal diameter could work for a casting reel but that is really thick line for a spinning reel. If you wanted to stick with straight mono I'd stay in the 6 to 8 pound test range.
Just watched your top water video love the commentary. Us bass guys remember the weights of our 5 biggest bass more so than our anniversary or children's birthdays lol. Great video @A-Jay
It may depend on the day if the fish are finicky that day it may make a difference but there are days due to approaching weather system you could soak your lures in motor oil and the fish would still bite. Whatever you do just dont eat a banana on the boat
