  1. I love the single hook. What brand and size did you use?
  2. What sort of contest?
  3. At the moment, I want numbers. Over the past few seasons I have not fished nearly as often as I would like. And to make matters worse, I got skunked a fair number of those times, so I'm just looking to get bit. After I get to a point where I can consistently catch fish, then I'll start looking for the "big" bite. Until then, I'll settle for any bite.
  4. I own two Zebco Omegas: the ZO2 and the ZO3. I love them. They are as hassle free a reel as I've ever used. The ZO2, in my opinion, is perfect for a 7-year-old. It's not as heavy as the ZO3, so you shouldn't be concerned with him getting tired. Plus, he can fish panfish lures as well as bass lures. That means more action. Don't think he won't get excited if a bull blue gill explodes on his Beetle Spin. He will.
  5. I don't own one, but I've picked them up at Gander Mountain and remember being impressed with their weight and their design. I compared it to a Mojo rod and there really was no doubt which I would spend my money on first. The Skeet Reese rod. Of course, I wasn't looking to actually buy a rod that day. I was just teasing the bait monkey...
  6. I think having a dominant superstar helps in a fringe sport like bass fishing. It provides a name, a face and a story for the average Joe to latch onto.
  7. I'm not familiar with the no-knot snaps, but I use normal snaps (no swivel) for most of my hard bait fishing. I tie directly to the hook when working soft plastics, but crankbaits, jigs, spoons, spinner baits, etc. usually get the snap treatment. And they've never lost me a fish.
  8. Those look great. Kudos to you.
  9. I may be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that Gary Yammamoto originally planned for the Senko to be a jerkbait. In fact, I think they were initially marketed as such. Some online retailers still do. From my experience, a Senko can be worked like a fluke effectively. They just happen to be so darned good when fished slow, too...
  10. Microman, Explain to me how this was a joke? His handle should be microboy. Check his age. His sense of humor is decidedly juvenile. I'm aware of that, and there is a reason I would like him to answer my question. Thanks Fair enough. Tight lines.

  12. 1. Super Fluke. 2. Trick Worm. 3. Brush Hog. All in watermelon seed. Nuff said.
  13. I own it and have read it cover to cover on more than one occasion. It's a great book. Most of the In-Fisherman handbooks are high quality.
  14. was bass fishing he just went after my deep diver Ultra lights are great for Crappie...even better when a good sized LMB surprises you on a Crappie jig... Absolutely. I love fishing ultralite (or at least light) tackle. You get so many more bites. Bluegills, crappie, bass, other sunfish, etc. all will attack ultralite baits. For me, that means more fun. And believe it or not, I've never had more fun than when I was casting mini crankbaits into a school of swarming blue gills. Some of those babies were bulls! And on a 5' 6" light action rod, the fight was a lot of fun.
