  1. Problem is around where I'm from summer means incredible high heat, we talking bout 120F summer days. Somedays even hotter, so usually the bass are in a comatose state where all I can catch em with is soft plastics and crankbaiting deeper water where its cooler. I will however just for the sake of knowing read those or see those pro tips just in case lol.
  2. COOL! so I guess since I got them at a good price I can just toss those 110 into the nastiest of cover and be guilt free if one of them gets lost lol. Awwwww man, is that good news, now I just need the summer to pass so I can use them. Thanks!!!!
  3. Hi, I just purchased a whole ton of 110s and to my surprise I think they might be fake. So I was hoping maybe someone here can chime in and verify if in fact they are or they aren't. The reasons are the following, on some only the middle hook is missing the barbs and they also come with no nose split ring, also it seems they got hook rash while in the box which leads me to think the finish is fake? besides that everything else seems to be ok. The colors are lively they seem identical since I got some dupes, and they all have the ITO vision 110 signature, though one seems to be peeling off. So any help is appreciated, thanks. Anyone wondering where I got them, it was at ebay, and they are the ones that have the price tag in bright orange or white, old old school type of price tag, looks like a sticker.
  4. Thanks alot for your answers
  5. Wondering if anyone knows what type of tip it has and were I can find a replacement without contacting megabass since I got the rod in a trade. Thanks. Btw, the tip is missing the insert.
  6. So, I went fishing yesterday and the tatula ct R is a real beast, for 130 bucks I paid at the bay I am almost wondering why I bought other reels. The noise appears to have been caused by a loose spool tension knob, once I tightened it all I could here was gears working, and the feeling of smoothness and precision all over. Just wanted to report.
  7. Thanks, lurk here a lot, but as time progresses more stuff keeps popping up so I post more. BTW, is it better to loosen the spool tension or does it not make a difference when storing reels?
  8. I wouldn't worry, about it, just to clear things up, I am talking about a CT type R and I believe anyone can make a mistake, Daiwas have a sweet reputation and after tightening the spool it seems to be ok. So give one a go.
  9. So I decided to spool it and try it out, turns out that CT's have a very particular spool tension knob. I had to tighten it almost completely in order for a 3/8 oz weight to fall slowly, and the noise appears to be gone. I have a habit of loosening the spool tension completely as well as the star drag, but don't know if it is necessary. Did a few casts like a crazy man out on the street and I must say I was impressed, backlashes seem a thing of the past and the noise seems to be gone. The mag force magnetic cast control is nuts. So I guess this one is solved, any comments are welcome though. Thanks Bass Forums.
  10. Hi, I was wondering if anyone else here that owns a tat type R has a screeching noise, it seems the spool is rubbing against the frame. Hoping someone can chime in and verify if it is an easy fix or should I exchange the reel for another one. Thanks.
  11. Wondering if anyone knows how to pimp these reels out?
  12. Wondering if someone could be kind enough to tell me about these reels. Just bought 3 since they were my dream reel when I was younger. Now that im older decided to buy them. Just curious abut the reel itself. I read somewhere that they are all aluminum but thats about it. Fished a 1601 sx today and after getting used to casting it managed to get my longest cast ever on a crankbait, can't remember the weight but its a billdance fat free guppy. Never had the problem of getting my lure cast over the target before lol.
  13. Cool, just read up and your right.
  14. Im guessing the teflon is there to help with less foul or missed strikes since all the bass has to do is touch the sharp point and the teflon will make a smaller hole too so less problems with bass getting lost. Remember guys teflon coated bullets go through armor, so it makes sense to put it on hooks.
  15. I just read somewhere that reversing the orientation of the spring washers is actually a good thing? from this () to this )(. Anyone have any experience? I just did it to see if I can see any difference so I will update soon. Thanks for watching and replying.
  16. So in short, I really shouldn't worry about the guides that much these days? I guess the companies that put the nicer stuff on their rods are trying to compete for pennies when it comes to performance. Thanks yall.
  17. So I was checking out some rods I just bought and someone mentioned that some rod guides can be over 100 dollars and it got me thinking. What are the types of guides and what benefits do some have over others? does it increase sensitivity? I read weight saving is a huge part of the deal and also the design of the guide can improve casting distance. So my question is aimed towards the ring material. I am sure longevity is contemplated but then again why would someone prefer to put SiC guides if AlumOx can get the job done? if possible could someone put a list or link me to one where the guides are listed in better to worst or vice versa or just explain what benefits one has over the other? Part of the reason I got so interested is I just purchased an okuma flipping stick and it caught my attention that the guides are AlumOx, my other rods have zirconium and are not as expensive as the okuma one. Thanks.
  18. I think the best option will be to take it to an Okuma certified service center, and hope for the best. Thanks all for your opinions and answers. Cheers.
  19. So I just got an okuma krios of the bay and took it for a spin today. Noticed three weird things. One the handle moves parallel to the shaft (horizontally) meaning it has some play. The drag has to be put super tight (in fact I can't spin the star anymore) in order for the line to not easily slip. Third and last, I backlashed the reel (user error) and noticed theres a small opening between the reel spool and the frame of the reel, big enough for the line (12lb fluoro) to slip into. Did I get a dud, a pirated reel or just plain lousy one? any ideas what to do? thanks for you time.
  20. So I settled on some power worms, some luck e strikes I found on sale and some YUM varied plastics following the lizard and creatures. One question though, any recommendations on the senko looking ones? Thanks, will post my success or lack of after this weekend.
  21. I wish I could remember the name of those worms, it seems theres lots of new options but I concur that discontinued items will always be nostalgic. I think the closest one is gene larew or gambler worms. I guess I will have to try out quite a few. So how do you guys recommend I boil the tail? just warm water and lets go or do I wear a mask? thanks all for your replies.
  22. I mean the tail has a curve but it was so thin even the slightest water current made the tail swim.
  23. That Mann worm looks sexy as hell. Thanks to all for your replies, its good to know theres a lot of friendly people here.
  24. Hi, long time lurker here and finally decided to post something. I was wondering what are some of the favorite plastics people use. I also was wondering if someone remembers the name of some plastic worms that were sold as a very thin tail so it always swam even without a weight. Thanks.
