  1. So on a whim after seeing Ike’s post about his online fishing tournament I decides entered it and went out a few hours later I went out and caught this beast. I forgot to enter the pic of me holding it so I don’t know if it’ll count. It’ll sting if it won’t cos it was a monster.
  2. Went to my local Ditch to hammer some snakes with my popping perch. Missed more than I care to remember but still got two nice ones.
  3. The night time bite has been almost automatic for me lately.
  4. bro you gotta get me on your boat there. Ive always wanted to fish green lane for a few years now.
  5. I havent been to Nockamixion since I went back to work a few weeks ago. I would never have wished this on anyone but I did use the time i had to finally fish that place. I had to pinch myself when i was on the water because I never thought Id have that kind of opportunity to fish Nockamixion during the prespawn with virtually no boat traffic. I plan on doing a few night trips there when I get the chance.
  6. have you checked out this page? https://pfbc.pa.gov/spbtregsx.htm
  7. go on youtube and search for skarfishing. he breaks down the place from season to season.
  8. If youre not throwing a frog then I dont want to know you.
  9. What would i need to do that?
  10. just a steady retrieve buddy. my chatterbait is usually the same for day or night which is with a bluegill/green pumpkin skirt. but there are times where i do aim for the weeds and rip/pop it out. ive had some of my most violent strikes from the biggest bass ive caught using that technique. Edit I was planning to stay in and not bike out to my pond but after I wrote My response it gave me the itch to go for a few minutes. Good move for me and not so good news for these guys. Just as i said before I aimed for the weeds and as soon as i popped it out they hammered it.
  11. I hope you're going to use it only on the water and not from the bank. That's a scarey risk to Use on a lure that gets hung up easily.
  12. The night bite has been pretty sweet for me these last few weeks. the chatterbait and the buzzbait is what i throw. the chatterbait has been dominating so far.
  13. Ive been tossing my jackhammer on a dobyns fury 704 with a tatula 100h spooled with 30lbs suffix braid. ive pretty much only used this since march. even caught one last night with that.
  14. not too long ago i watched a video of him and one thing he said stuck. he said something like he moved to tx because to catch the biggest fish you have to go where the big fish are. after hearing that i decided to make the long drives to the best lake near me. there are plenty of smaller lakes/ponds closer to me but i really was focusing on quality over quantity. It paid off last month when I got my PB and he was one of the reasons why i got it.
  15. I would think a mechanical engineering degree would be the safest way into the industry.
  16. in the summer i only use a frog during the day then a buzzbait at night. the rest of my set ups are for decoration on my kayak.
  17. Yeah I have an achor and I know about a steak polls. But how good will that pole do in 10 ft of water? My anchor works but and I'm sure it does for most but if you don't see how a spot lock would be better in all areas I would look closer.
  18. I would still pay for it if I had the funds. Thats such a great feature to have. Even with a anchor or a steak pole, positioning the kayak to me is crucial and very difficult in wind.
  19. Braided line looks like weaving thread. Id be pretty upset at the guy who told you that was braid. I would set the everything on the highest safest settings for a few days and then work slowly and carefully down till you have it down where you can cast cleanly.
  20. not sure if that old town sportsman is capable of having that spot lock feature but if it did or could I would be all over that kayak.
  21. i use my daughters yellow or orange pen marker and color the bottom top half of my frogs.
  22. have a few set ups so you can be ready. I make sure i have one frog rod for when im targeting shallow shaded areas and heavy vegetation. if thats not working i cast a chatterbait or buzzbait parallel the shore like 10-20 ft out along some kind of grass or shaded line. When i run into some kinda of wood structure i either throw a frog at the base or in shaded areas or throw a swim jig and hop and swim it out. if thats not working i break out the dynamite.
  23. I met him at at a fishing trade show and it was like meeting a rock start. i even geeked out and asked for him to sign my buzzbait package like a teenage girl asking justin beiber for an autograph. Funny how he wrote my screen name on here onto my package when i told him my name was Tony.
  24. Ive liked the spro spit shad recently. they walk with a spit pretty nicely. Ive been playing around with the strike king sexy frog too and is pretty similar to the pad crasher in how easy they can walk.
  25. maybe think about using a braid to floro leader for bank fishing. if you get snagged and have to break it off the weaker leader line breaks and you only lose a few feet of line.
