  1. that article made me buy those sk burners that caught me my personal best bass.
  2. ive ran into stumps, and its no big deal because youre not going that fast, relatively speaking so i doubt its going to do real damage to the drive. Ive seen other pedal driven brands that give way in case you hit something like that. but so far it hasent been much of an issue with me. If the space of the drive is an issue then i can see it helping a bit but i have plenty of places to store my propel unit. if anything you can just leave it on the kayak. its not like it wont fit in your trunk or in the back seat. i cant see that being that much of an issue.
  3. pedal drive needs to be greased but isnt a big deal. i chose the pedal driven slayer 10 for a few reasons. weight, the slayer 10 is 70lbs with out the drive and makes it a breeze to load and unload. the rudder is plastic and very durable. when you unload the slayer the rudder touches the ground first but the weight of the kayak moves it to where its out of the way. the hobie is substantially heavier. that was a big deal for me. i found mine used for under $2k, even if i bought it new i would of saved a nice bit of change over the pro angler. the instant reverse is sweet. hobie now has the reverse that just came out this year but you have to pull a lever and ive heard can be annoying to keep pulling it over and over again. good luck with either choice.
  4. Was rigging up the night before i took my kayak out and put a strike king rage swimmer on my chatterbait and it just looked too nice for me to wait. so since i live a block away from a pond i decided to use it. this was 4 and change, biggest of the year for me. too bad it wasnt a sign of things to come. i pretty much sucked it up on my kayak for the next two days.
  5. Im going this year with a 17lb mono leader on my braid for my 110. seems like with braid on the 110 it seems to not swim immediately or gets tangled up on the trebles.
  6. I took mine out both sat and today. today was hard due to the wind but i managed with my propel drive and an anchor.
  7. first decent catch on the kayak for the year. just made the 3 lbs mark on a picasso shock blade with a lake fork magic shad trailer both in white.
  8. double willow spinner, it was in the fall though.
  9. Yes I have caught a 3 lbs bass there before.
  10. yes zoom super flukes.
  11. First bass in the kayak for 2018. caught last weekend at Newton.
  12. Flukes, they've been off my radar for a few years. Rummaged through my plastics a few days ago and found a few. Figured I could use them bank fishing.
  13. Slayer propel 10. Pros: Propel drive. ease of pedaling vs paddling is very nice especially in windy conditions or in current. in shallow waters i can just pull up the propel drive and paddle. Wide enough to be a very stable platform to stand on. Tracks to mount extra stuff like paddle holder and extra rod holders, ect. Light enough to car mount with ease. this was one of the main selling points. I can strap it on and be ready to go in 5 minutes. Cons Expensive. I kind of dont like telling people what i paid for it when they ask. Can be tricky to steer and fish at the same time. it can get tricky to use a right hand retrieve while steering with my left. its doable but can be annoying. i wish i could mount the steering on the right so i can hold the rod with my left and steer. thinking of actually buying a left hand retrieve baitcaster to see if i could adjust to it.
  14. Philly bro here, was thinking of trying out the upper elk river in MD or around that area on a kayak. Is the wind a factor most of the time while in that area? I was also looking around the lower end part of the Susquehanna and was wondering how fast the current is at times for a kayak.
  15. Learned that how close the upper parts of the Chesapeake Bay is from Philly and im learning how good the bass fishing could be there
  16. I buy the majority of my gear on the TW black friday sale. 30% on Strike King , Booyah, Yum plus other stuff made it hard to keep my trigger finger still.
  17. Tropical park in Miami is where i caught my first one on a Rapala skitter pop.
  18. i use a trailer hook and its responsible for a decent amount of catches.
  19. I use my Daiwa Arditos 3 piece often and theyre the only rods i take when visiting my inlaws. Heavier than my 1 piece but its well worth it to be able to transport them safely and not having a rod tip poking my wifes head while driving.
  20. I use those speed clips but only when im bank fishing with one set up. I use a wacky o ring to keep the clip from sliding from the spinner or buzzbait.
  21. try a black whopper plopper
  22. d**n this is going to keep Christie up at night for a long time.
  23. all my picks have been doing good except for randy howell.
  24. you should give the scum frog bigfoot a try if youre looking for a weedless floating buzz frog.
  25. The two or three of the bigger bodies of waters from me are about an hour drive. I do have some local spots but I wonder how many of you guys drive long distances to fish a body of water you fish frequently.
