i wouldnt be surprised if there was a cash incentive to switch back. but yeah i dont think ive ever watched mlf live. its just a train wreck of schedule to watch.

but he didnt get invited because he already verbally told his intentions to stay flw right before anyone had a chance to ask him. if hes already committed then why bother asking.

watching ike live with scott and learned he was asked by duckett to join MLF after he got wind of Scott martin being upset on not getting the invite initially.

When he says its not about the money i remember hearing someone says that if someone says its not about the money then its always about the money. i wonder if there was a under the table deal that we dont know about.

I was thinking they didn't invite him was to not butcher flw which they probably had plans to acquire all along.

Just watched his youtube video of the announcement of him entering the opens in hopes to enter the elites. He said he wants to chase his dreams to win the classic. A goal his father never achieved. He said that was one of the reasons why. That really surprised me. Why would he enter now? Yeah I get it that now it's the perfect time with such a weak field to capture a few wins but I've always wanted to see him fish along the ex elites in the bass pro tour.

yeah caught some bass here and there but nothing of real size

is the tag end of the tie interfering with the blade or maybe youre picking up too much grass? i highly doubt its anything to do with the reel.

I night fish often. this year ive neglected the buzzbait for some reason but that works. last night i got a decent one on a double colorado spinner bait at night. dont forget to put the trailer hook on.

You can always add a trolling motor to a pedal drive. Ive had a Native Slayer 10 Propel for a few years and havent looked to upgrade yet. the weight and the pedal drive is what made me go for it and ive been happy with it. One feature I wish I had that ive seen on the newer Hobie PA is the dual rudder control. if i could switch the rudder control from the left side to the right i would.

since the season is winding down i would wait for the best black friday deal. last year the revo x was $50 on amazon. im still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on that.

Ive caught my share. I rarely target them specifically but once in a while in the dead of summer I'll target them. Over here Its very hard to catch 6lbs+ bass but its possible to catch a few snakeheads that size so I can understand why people go crazy over them. Ive eaten one of them I caught this year and found the meat to be too chewy for me to like. Theyre like eating over cooked shrimp.

Will top FLW pros like Thrift and Martin be able to compete with the MLF pros this year?

trust the people here and forget the inflatable. i know hiking to some remote spot to kayak to fish where no one else has sounds very appealing but realistically its going to be such a headache and time consuming youre going to end up not using it much. if youre concerned about weight there are lots sit on top kayaks that are less than 100 lbs that can easily be tossed on the top of your car with a simple car rack. transporting it once you get it off is simple with a kayak dolly. there are plenty of smart options out there. again, listen to the people here and go for a sit on top kayak and move on from there. sit on top kayaks offers so much more than sit in kayaks that i would forget about that option as well.

the only reason to get an inflatable is if you have zero space to store a regular kayak. even if i didnt have any space to store a kayak i would just have it on my car year round. I had one and any wind will be trouble sometimes serious trouble.

Dobyns Fury 704, Tatula 100H with 30lbs JBraid is what Ive been using for the last 2 years and feel theres no reason to change anything in that set up. Im not a fan of really long rods being im only 5'8'' so thats why i picked a 7 ft rod. If im not getting the distance I need I'll just move closer to the target. I really like the fast action tip on it that has enough give to not miss many bites and it has the backbone to feel like im in charge if im lucky enough to hook into a nice one.

last year i caught a 8 lbs channel with a chatterbait at the same spot. but yeah so far its been my weirdest catch this year. I wouldnt of bothered to try to get it official and in the books if it was indeed bigger than the current 4 lbs 10 oz, which in my opinion was.

either way it was a fun bite. i dont want to be that guy who tosses around words like state record at every other fish i catch but it was a heavy fish regardless of what it is. well maybe not if it is a flathead lol.

to add to this is that the bullhead whiskers are dark while the flatheads are white to yellow.

went to virginia a few weeks back to take the family to busch gardens and was lucky enough to get some advice from @Darren. who helped me get on some fish by pointing out some really sweet small reservoirs. he even told me his top secret spot haha. these were the best from lee hall res. all caught on rage shad and the jackhammer.

i guess im going to hog this whole thread for a little big longer. my kid was at a friends house so i took advantage of the time by going fishing. 4.2 on the chatterbait.
