Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any bass fishing spots down in Norfolk. I'm looking for anything whether it's a small pond in a little park or a larger lake/reservoir. If I can't find anything I'm just gonna learn to surf fish lol. Thanks

Back in the days of Pride FC they would issue yellow cards for inactivity. Each one took 10% of the fighters purse. They should do something similar. As far as A. Silva goes I personally think he was sending a message to Dana White. You want an exciting fight, you better open up your wallet. Fighter's salaries have been a big issue and you can't exactly just cut the champ from the line up.

Decided to go on a fishing trip to Canada with some friends mainly to drink beer. Turns out I love fishing 8 years later I still love fishing (and beer).

I cover mine with a tarp lol. Bought a tarp and a grommet kit, some PVC pipe to make some uprights and some bungees. Don't think I spent more than $30. Hasn't collapsed in 4 years. Whatever you wind up covering it with it will be useless unless you prop it up so there are no places for water to settle. If you're not handy they make all sort of gadgets to prop up your cover. Some are just a strap that runs from bow to stern over the seats, some use poles, I used PVC.

Plus 1 on that. I used to live in South Brunswick and the Riva Ave circuit was great for after work lol. Start at Davidson's mill pond right after work, go down Riva and hit all the little spots on Farrington, then either hit up Dalenback or head head into Milltown/Ryders lane. By the time you fished all the spots it was time to quit fishin for the day!!

I would say that's a bit of overkill. I checked out the rear motor and it's a $2600, 48v (4 batteries, imagine when you have to replace all them!!), pontoon motor that only lasts 2 hours. That's not a very long day of fishing. I realize most electric only lakes aren't giant and 2 hours of off and on could get you around, but it's awfully limiting as far as where you're gonna trailer your boat. You wanna spend all that money on a brand new boat and not be able to take it on any of your bigger fishing trips? I think a lot of the electric only boats I've seen put together by members on here are cheaper in the long run and way more functional. I would have preferred to see them lighten up the boat (less material/labor = cheaper) instead of finding the biggest (most expensive) electric motor and just slap it on. Maybe add a fuel tank and wiring so the rear motor is interchangeable. Maybe it wouldn't be so 1 dimensional then.

Oh, and where do you fish? I'm in Spring Grove visiting for a week or two and am getting the itch. Good thing I brought my gear lol.

I'm gonna suggest rotating your lumber so the tall dimension (the 4 in the 2x4 lol) is verticle. That's where the strength is. If you stand them up like that (like the joists in your house) you're gonna wanna crown them so they are bowed up in the center. That way when you add the weight of the ply and you fishin it will weigh it down to flat. Crowning just means look down the length of the 2x4 and see which way it bows naturally. Sometimes it's easier to see the crown on longer boards, so crown and mark them before you cut. If you don't do any of what i said, don't worry, you're boat won't fall apart. I think the way you have it should be fine, but turning them would add a little more strength. That's all. Good luck with your project and hurry up!!! It's gettin warm out lol.

I had a similar experience. I've replaced 3 extreme rods from BPS. There is a letter/number code after the description that tells the date of manufacture. The only time I had an issue was with a 3 or 4 year old rod (had different styling and I think was a few million modules less then the current) and they explained the same thing to me. Told me there is only a year warranty, but they replaced it for me anyway. Overall you can't beat that.

Maybe the timing is off a degree or 2.

Well I found a great deal on a real but that unfortunately means I also need a new rod. The reel is an Abu Garcia ambassadeur C3 thats gonna be spooled with 12# flouro. It's gonna have to multi task, so i plan on worming and even throwing crankbaits on it. The 2 questions are what rod length, 6'6" or 7', and medium or medium heavy? I'm in NJ so there aren't tons of giant fish, and I already have a 6'6" medium with mono on it. I was leaning towards 7' MH to round out my gear, but I'm open to opinions as I've never bought a set up with an intended technique. Usually I just fish what ever technique with what ever gear I have. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Fish the water conditions. The rain will probably effect deep reservoirs differently than rivers so just fish the temp and clarity like normal. On average i would guess that rain would cool it down and muddy it up so do what you gotta do. As far as weather goes, do the same. Fish the sunlight and air pressure accordingly and you should be good.

The more important thing about it is the overall health of the lake. The few fish that are killed by anglers that practice catch and release is nothing compared to over harvesting. I wouldn't worry about the 1 fish as it seems you have the right attitude about fishing in general. Culling the population isn't a bad thing either, just as long as things stay balanced. Nobody likes to see a fish die for no reason, but if it's gonna go may as well keep it and fry it up. Nature provides for us, may as well appreciate it now and then.

You just answered your own question. I play guitar too and attempting to play a lefty guitar would result in utter failure. Which one is right or better doesn't even exist in guitar circles. Why it even exists in fishing is beyond me. Go to the store and have some fun. See which feels more natural to you, and there ya go. If someone says the handle is on the wrong side, tell em the fish cant tell the difference.
