  1. That's because it's basically the same reel minus the aluminum frame. I would get the ci4+ for sure, the sustain isn't worth any extra money over the ci4+. Another awesome reel in the price range is the Diawa luvias, I like it way better than any of my stradics and it's made in japan.
  2. Yeah I agree with all that. My point is polishing the friction points like the the inside of the pinion gear and spool shaft will do nothing to smooth out the retrieve. The spool shaft doesn't spin inside the pinion gear when the reel is engaged. Polishing the ends of the spool shaft may possibly help make the retrieve smoother but I doubt it would actually make a noticeable difference. In my experiences if the reel feels geary on the retrieve it's almost always in need of a new gear set.
  3. How can super tuning smooth the retrieve? The handle spinning "for days" has nothing to do with the smoothness of the retrieve.
  4. Super tuning or new bearings isn't going to make it "smoother" it will just help with casting. If it's not smooth on the retrieve it may need a new gear set.
  5. 30 size is what you want. I also like the 35 size but I prefer bigger spinning reels. The 30 size is a just little smaller than a 2500 shimano and just little bigger than a 2000 size daiwa.
  6. Get whichever you can find cheaper! I have both and have taken both apart. Blindfolded you would never be able to tell the difference. The both are identical performance wise. The only difference is the 3 arb bearings on the curado vs 3 stainless steel bearings on the citica. To me the curado isn't worth 5 dollars more let alone the huge retail price difference. Keep checking ebay, I got my citica for 107 new.
  7. The handle, knob, plastic spool insert and drag knob, the machining on the spool itself etc... everything about looks and feels cheap to me compared to the previous model stradics.
  8. I have both and I would say definitely look at the new fk in person before you order it. I like it but it doesn't feel as solid or refined as the ci4+ and fj's. It just looks and feels cheap in my opinion.
  9. Fj's from 10 years ago huh? Hahahahaha No they came out about 4-5 years ago
  10. Probably just needs an extra shim inside the knob. A few of my shimano reels have needed an extra shim new out of the box.
  11. Get the president and spend the extra money on the rod!
  12. You'll know when you're paying a fortune at the Honda dealership to have the wiring harness replaced that he chewed up when you trapped him inside.
  13. Not all AR bearings come apart like the one in that picture. And most people would never take them apart because it's easy to damage that roller cage on most AR bearings because it takes quite a bit of force to press it out. My point is that brake cleaner could possibly damage the plastic or composite cages in ar bearings and some regular bearings that have plastic cages.
  14. I'm talking about the cage inside the bearing that holds the rollers like in the picture above. That bearing can't be taken apart.
  15. Call me crazy but doesn't that bearing in the picture have a plastic cage? Like most AR bearings?
  16. Same here. I have more abrasion problems with mono or copolymer than I do with light braid.
  17. Well you could have gotten all your money back easily. Ebay has a 100% money back guarantee for buyers. If the buyer doesn't refund your money so many days after you file a claim ebay WILL refund your money then take it from the seller themselves.
  18. I agree about ebay! What's really bad is they take their money AFTER they charge you to put it in your PayPal account. So you are paying a fee to transfer thier percentage of money to your paypal account. And now they take 10% of the shipping cost too! If you sell something for a 100 bucks you get about 87, total nonsense. Plus as a seller on ebay if the buyer wants to screw you ebay will ALWAYS side with the buyer period.
  19. Same here. I've given up on either of the bass pro shops nearby having anything I want in stock. You would think they would at least carry all of thier own branded products but nope.
  20. I removed all mine never had a ptoblem on my E's. Even if you squeeze the tabs and grease it the clicking will usually come back.
  21. You just bend the wire forward a bit and push it through first. The wire is flexible and goes right back in place.
  22. Look at one in person before you buy it....I'll bet you won't buy it.
