  1. I'll talk to my adviser about it. My articulation agreement has me at Math 1530 then math 1830...no prereq course. But I'll see. Taking a prereq put me behind and load me up. Logarithmic and exponential are in the calculator. I did that in high school geometry,I cannot remember what problems look like, but I remember using the calculator for it.
  2. ;D Here, I copy this from my schools online catalog about Calculus A: A one-semester course in the differential and integral calculus of algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions with applications. (Prerequisite: MATH 1630 or 1710 or permission of the instructor.) 3.000 Credit Hours 3.000 Lecture hours Levels: Undergraduate Schedule Types: Lecture Math College Mathematics Department Course Attributes: Geometry Advanced Math P.S. Look like I have to get permission from my instructor to go into this class. I'm taken math 1530 I think. It probability and statistic. I got a B in the class currently.
  3. After Calc A, I take a class called Econ 2210, which says in course description Business Statistic. A guy in my Economic class told me that Calc A was all graph.. It amazing how every states and colleges has different names for the courses and graduation requirement. If I go to college in Alabama I would be require to take 4 English classes, while in Tennessee I only need 3 English class.
  4. Thanks for the responds. One guy in my Statistic class said he took it long time ago (he took times off from school apparently) and he said only thing he remember was, it was easy... I guess I find out on August 26th. :
  5. Math 1720 is pre-cal and trigonometry Math 1830 is calculus A math 1910 is calculus 1. and if anyone brave enough math 2110 is calculus III LOL. That how it set up in Tennessee?
  6. Nope. My degree requirement says Math 1830 and when I register for it, it says Calculus A.... My stat professional did tell me it was design for business majors. He also claimed it was whole different animal from Calculus 1. I guess it just state of Tennessee that has it? I'll ask him again on Friday. My brother took Calculus 1 so he doesn't know either. P.S. I'm taking a wild guess that it has mix of pre-calculus and calculus along with basic skills that will be used in quantitative method. I have to have this class before I go into Econ 2210 which says in course description Business Statistic. I'm assuming it Quantitative Method.
  7. Anyone of you know the different between Calculus A and Calculus 1? Here in Tennessee Calculus A is math 1830 while Calculus 1 is math 1910. I'll ask my Statistic professor Friday, but was wondering if any of you took Calculus A or knows somebody who did. Thanks.
  8. You just described my academic attitude.
  9. That movie is a true horror! I have a phobia of being on a plane full of snakes!
  10. Haha. What about Family Guy or Simpson? They are pretty mainstream.
  11. I have no freaking clue. I'm ask her tomorrow about it.
  12. Actually it was assigned today. I'm suppose to do mine next wed. on the 22nd. My longest paper has been 645 words to be exact. I manage to make a C on every paper (4 papers) with barely meeting word requirement. And only reason why I made Cs was because I kept using past tense when she wanted literary present tense. I'm convinced that procrastination will be my downfall.
  13. As many of you may or may not know by now, that I'm Accounting/Finance major. I have very limited and lack of creativity when it comes to writing. But I'm highly knowledgeable to the world of economic. If any of you guys/gals are sitting here bored reading this. Perhaps you like to help me with my English presentation. I'm not going to plagiarized your idea, I just need help getting jump start. P.S. Could Warren Buffett make a pop culture presentation? I mean I could make it last longer than 15 minutes on this subject. ;D P.S.S. I wonder if I could create a fictional character and portray him as a greedy wall street broker? I mean lot of people thinks the boys on Wall Street are evil people. I'm try get my ideas organized then ask my professional on Wednesday if she thinks I'm going in right direction.
  14. You know how you get silent but deadly fart? and you're just walking down street, or aisle in a store and just silently let it out well have you guys ever wonder how hard midgets has it? I mean what if you're a midget walking through clouds after clouds of fart? Here a story I'd share with you. My bestfriend's mom actually stopped up a toilet so epically in a hotel in Memphis and got the room free. Hotel thought it was their fault for bad plumbing. ;D ;D They even gave 'em a new room.
  15. I enjoyed watching Mickleson play. He had one shot sitting on edge of pine and nearly had an eagle from 100 some yards away from the green. Unbelievable. Then he had another shot deep into the pines and still manage put it near the green. These guys are not mortal.
  16. Reminds me of the movie "The Shooter" where the guy goes "you don't understand, these guys killed my dog." Shame we got some punks in this world.
  17. I'm tired of hearing these kind of people advertising everywhere. http://alcsglobal.com/freepackage/ Anyone know what the heck they sale? They are always advertising in papers and magazines.
  18. Snook, you and I are alike. I pay close attentions to outputs produced by farmers and manufacturers. But my money goes into trucking and marine merchant. Once all the goods are produced they cannot sell it without transporting. I usually pay attention to infrastructure companies. Companies that big companies pay to make things more efficiency or to help their overall operations.
  19. Yeah, I'm not laughing at that. Just the remark. Honestly, I don't think SEC is in anyone's pocket, but I just don't think they are smart enough to uncover it. They just look at the accounting sheets and statement, but do not look further into and see if those statements really did happen. Because they got so many companies to read and so much going on and not enough money to hire a lot of people to look into those statement and see if they are fraudulent or not. example: I could report I made my money on XYZ because this happen. But SEC will not look and see if that did happen (in madoff case that event did happen, he just never did invested in it). I just basically told a lie and that all she wrote. It really is hard trying to uncover frauds, mistakes, and fudged numbers. Where else can you make a 2 million dollar transaction and the only proof is the accountant's hand?
  20. Muddy, there was a guy who kept reporting to SEC that Madoff was running a scheme. He reported it 10 times over an 8 year spread. Well, anyway after Madoff ponzi scheme surfaced, the same guy bashed the SEC like this "The SEC could go to Fenway park, sit in the Red Sox's dugout, and still cannot find 1st base" A week later an SEC chief resigned. Funny stuff.
  21. I signed a contract to be on scholarship. The guy that used to monitor my progress in college resign in December, so they gave me a new guy. Well, I sent the guy an email asking about when he needs my new FASFA, he never replied, sent him second email, never replied. I'm thinking I wonder if he remembers I have contract with his people..Finally third email I ask him what his new contact information (I had his number, but I want see if he reply) he actually sent me his number on 3rd email, but didn't bother answer any of my serious questions regarding my scholarship and FASFA. okay, So I called him and explain him my situation and that I want take summer courses to knock off some hours and get more credits. He said "let me talk to my supervisor and I'll call you back." This was on Friday, and today is Tuesday, he hasn't call me. I wonder if he knows I can get him in world of trouble since we have contract agreement... Olebiker, I feel your pain. >
  22. I'm not going to B.S. you here, but I haven't gotten to Mark-to-Market yet. I just know what it means (valuing assets on balance sheets correct me if I'm wrong) but I haven't learn how it actually works. I don't know the formula or anything like that on how they value the assets. I haven't taken a college level accounting class, yet. I take it next fall. (I'm following the adviser guide) I took a very basic accounting class in high school learn where all the numbers go on a journal, balance sheets, etc. I've only taken two college level economic. Actually, I'm currently taking my 2nd one, and I take my 3rd one this summer. I take Calculus A and Accounting next fall, then in the spring I take Quantitative Method along with Accounting II. I'm in my 2nd semester of college. I teach myself the stock market everyday. I have a portfolio with Ameritrade and I read almost every news report that comes through my account. I look up all the major vocabularies and just teach myself. I learned the formulas of Debt Ratio (Liability/assets=debt ratio) to value stocks if I think the stocks are worth it. Even though that sometimes misleading,I feel more comfortable investing knowing they are using lower leverage (that is if the ratio is real low). If I only have enough cash to buy 3 companies which ever has a lower debt ratio is the company I invest in. That what I"m doing right now with my Ameritrade Account. Rest I learn from my brother he got a Business Administration degree. He major in Economic and minor in Accounting. He working in sales for Flowers food. He makes good money, but I want something better. 8-)
  23. My job exists solely because people do NOT believe accountants! 8-) Does that makes us future enemies? 8-)
  24. I do not think I take a Market Theory class. I got 13 accounting classes all lined up. :-? I'm just the guy that sits down with all the numbers giggling and laughing. Accountants are like doctors, everybody believe us.
  25. I don't know if you can now create a gmail acocunt through google, but I have like 99 gmail invite I can send out LOL. So, if anyone wants a Gmail account let me know and I'll be gladly to send you one.
