  1. So … I got home from work friday. All was well until I tried to change clothes. I tried to pull my shirttail out to take it off but something was keeping it in . So I pulled harder and could feel it pulling my boxers up too. I looked closer and somehow a fish hook had hooked the bottom of my shirt and the top of my boxers together!! It was a bream hook but I have never fished while wearing this shirt. I cant imagine how it got there. Another few inches and it could have really been interesting! The hook barb had my shirt, and the eye was stuck through the boxers. Glad it wasnt the other way around!!?
  2. My fav. line as well…
  3. Baby brush hogs are great. I dont catch much with brush hogs. My 2nd choice…
  4. Zoom super Fluke . watermelon seed. T-rigged , weightless, with a 3/0 EWG Gammy hook… I would change colors based on the water Im fishing.
  5. If you do anything enough you get better at it… that being said , once and awhile I’ll make a cast and just sit there and shake my head , wondering how I could make a cast like that at this point. I am more accurate with spinning, because I use spinning more. It just fits my kind of fishing better. I am most accurate with skipping. I do it sometimes when I dont have to ! That subtle presentation doesnt spook the fish , and results in more bites, which equals more fish. I mainly use casting for open water fishing with less trees around… I already catch enough “ log salmons “ as it is… I also am mainly fishing out of a 12 foot jon boat or a 10 foot bass hunter ,with a friend along, and the angle when casting with a bait caster is more difficult for me than spinning… trying not to snag the friend!
  6. Ive seen some hybrids with different types of bream, but never with a warmouth.
  7. Ive never seen a warmouth with a tail that big though, and the shape is different. But Ive only ever caught warmouth on a soft plastic bait either. The head and war paint by the gills are that of a warmouth. Ive never seen a cross between warmouth and copperheads before… not sure it’s even possible.??‍♂️
  8. Ive been a culprit man for a long time. Red shad, or purple shad are my 2 favorites. Mr Twister worms in black grape are equally good… I have done especially good with them the last hour of daylight…
  9. Caught this while bass fishing in one of my work route ponds… It has the mouth of a warmouth but otherwise looks like a copperhead bluegill. The tail isnt small like a warmouth.
  10. My security chief at church says he’s getting no other complaints so… it continues to be a mystery.
  11. When I had my pickup I might have had 2 nails in 20 years , and it sat in the same area my suv does! Im thinking about where my I drive my suv and it seems like I always get the nails friday-monday. Im at church for my security job and services on the weekend so… maybe its there! Checking with my security chief today to see if he’s getting other complaints…
  12. But this is my suv that I dont drive near as much. ( I have a work car that I drive all day and take home) I get no nails in the work car though, although someone slashed a tire on it once while it was sitting on my property. I used to plug tires a lot but the service is so good at this tire store I haven’t been!. I need to get me a plug kit though just in case. Thanks!
  13. I finally got the first one on August 8th. ( Maderna) My wife and daughter, and granddaughter got it last week also. There were just a lot of people that got the virus that I know well this time. One good friend nearly died from it. I decided getting the vacs was the lesser of the 2 evils. My first shot didnt hurt , but I was tired for 2 days after. Today it seems like Im starting to get a sore throat … Havent been sick at all for years- not even a cold , so I hope this wasnt a mistake…
  14. So I am on a first name basis with a local tire store because… Every few weeks I get another nail or screw in a tire. Last night I noticed another tire low on air, ( Drivers side in front )but I was tired and just put air in it. I took it after work today , and the good news was… I had bought one new tire before with road hazard warranty, and they said this time they couldn’t patch it because it was on the outside. The new tire is only 24.99 with the coverage.!!? But there’s more… When the employee came back in from checking the other tires he said the back left tire was completely flat, and the nail was also where they couldn’t patch it.!! So another tire for 24.99! ( These are 175.00 normally I think ) The bad news is… They wont be ready until 7:30 , and I have to wait. I think I have an enemy in my nieghborhood. It’s literally every 6-8 weeks like it’s on a schedule. Thinking about putting a trail cam on the closest tree to where I park . Update: They already got it done ! 5:20. Excellent service!
  15. That’s been my experience too. On the sensitive vrs less sensitive rods, I have never owned a high end rod and dont know how much better it could possibly be than what I get with low end rods. Shoot , probably more than half of all the bass Ive caught came on a Ugly stik.
  16. I thought bassresource was great when I started but this is ridiculous… Thanks Glenn !
  17. Ive had a few small length tournaments with friends. We just keep it simple. Total length of all fish , which is easy but still fun, or the fish has to be 12 inches or above to count. We do it honor system, just writing down the lengths,!or take a picture of the fish on the tape. We dont have a bonus for bigger fish but we could do that next time…?
  18. THIS ^^^^^ I would just add that Ive noticed most fish you put in a live well go in with subdued markings, but when you pull them out after awhile they will be brilliantly colored in most cases. I caught a completely “silver” bass once while cast netting shiners out of a murky golf course pond.
  19. My father in law once shot a nice buck with a big rack. He knew better but thought it was dead… So he walked right over and it jumped up and ran at him . Just before it gored him, one of his dogs jumped up and got the deer by the throat, allowing Mr Dolan to finish him off. My wife said her dad came home and made his wife sleep somewhere else while he let the dog sleep in the bed that night!
  20. @Basstagger , I would like to hear how you tag yours. I tagged around 20 fish in my lake a while back , and I think I only recaught 1 of them. The price of The tags I was buying went up too high for me to buy them so I quit.
  21. I think about it a lot. There aren’t too many sites near me but I know of a skirmish about 10 miles from me that has a creek going through it . The confederates were on the west side of it, and the union on the east. There were around 25 casualties total. I bet theres some stuff in the creek. The whole skirmish site is a wooded lot still, with a historical marker…
  22. Bottom one looks like indian crabgrass. Wet it and apply baking soda liberally. The top one is harder to tell, maybe carpetgrass or bermuda. Any product with glyphosate will kill it…
  23. Ive never done it , but have really wanted to. Ive been a civil war buff since I was a kid. I know if I ever got started Id be hooked. My brother in law is a long time relic hunter in the Richmond area. He once found a yankee ring at petersburg that had initials of a soldier from a NY regiment. He did some research, and found where the soldier was from. He was actually able to get in touch with his descendants and he presented the ring to them… He has given me some minie balls that i treasure.., @Bubba 460 do you have a you tube channel ? I’ll subscribe in a heartbeat. Already watch aquachigger and some others . Ive actually taken a battlefield trip with my dad that followed the area you mentioned ( the last few days leading up to appomattox. Saylers creek was one stop )
  24. That’s been my experience also with eagle claw bass hooks.
