  1. I’ll never use it in salt- got plenty of other combos for that. My friend could just flick his wrist and get 125+ out of it, even with a smaller bait…
  2. Well, I got it installed. Planning on trying it tomorrow afternoon. I’ll report back…
  3. Hope you’re better soon. I had all the symptoms 2 months or so ago, but tested negative. The cough was the worst. I called the doc and he prescribed an antibiotic. I was better in a week. I don’t know what I had , but I felt weird, in addition to the symptoms. Like something different than I ever had before. Also lost my taste for 4 days , which really stunk…
  4. Had a work stop at a pawn shop today, and had to check out the fishing stuff of course. I had been wanting one more casting combo and the Crush caught my eye. A friend had one and really liked it. It’s a 6.10 MH fast tip rod , . Felt great. Nice for once to have a reel that is balanced with the rod and has the same orange color. Amazon lists it for 139.95. I’m paying 70.00 for this one , and it looks like it’s brand new. Put 40.00 down and will pay it off after my next check.( Somehow I don’t feel as guilty doing it that way ) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has fished them and has any feedback…
  5. I very rarely see a floating , dead bass. Based on that, I assume the large majority of them sink when they die. I mean, like more than 95% of them…
  6. Just keep in touch with the bait. If it’s soft plastics, just raise the rod tip til you feel the bait. Then it’s much easier to feel the difference between the way the bait feels by itself, and the way a bait feels with a fish on it. A fish will either give the telltale tap, swim off with the bait, or it will feel like you cant feel anything if they have it and are swimming towards you. Moving baits like spinnerbaits, crankbaits etc. you KNOW when it’s a fish. Topwater, frogs, etc. is the same. And I have used mono 90% of the time. I can feel the fish just fine…
  7. I was out on my church security job and it was a nice night to be out on patrol. Some of the high school kids and teachers had built a fire earlier , and the moon is getting close to full. Took the pic at 3:10 a.m.
  8. Man! That was great! Thanks for sharing. Weve hiked up around Clingmans dome and Mt Mitchell, also water rock knob. Never did Laconte but would love too. Not positive I could cut the mustard and make it up there now. It’s been close to 10 years since I’ve done any Mt. hikes…
  9. Yeah, I read about it. I got some good feedback on the Ninja , including some videos, so I just ordered one from amazon. More in my price range too. I’ll let y’all know how it does… Thanks for all the help!
  10. I have LBP regularly. I get it from Standing on a hard surface too long, fishing in my bench seat Jon boat for over 3 hours, and sometimes after doing yard work. Ive never sought medical help, but may need to some day. The worst is trying to get into my work car after standing outside talking to customers. By the time I get to my next stop, I’m fine…
  11. I’ll probably have a lot of you shaking your heads when I tell you mine. It is a 6.6 medium ugly stik . I have fished with it over 20 years. Ive caught at least 2000 bass on it…( And that is a conservative estimate.) I have a very high hook up and landing percentage with it.( 80% is conservative) I don’t know what it is , but I love this rod. I recently got a nice 7.0 medium ( Fast tip)Fenwick rod, and I’m still getting used to it but it fishes well too. Both of these rods are used 100% for all my soft plastic applications…
  12. Sorry for your loss, AJ.
  13. It would definitely help with the weeds, but the 40 cracked the transom on my old bass hunter, so Im scared to put anything more powerful on it. It would help with my JB though.
  14. There used to be the old basket type ones that would cause the weeds to go around the prop. Those aren’t showing up on any searches I’ve done. I’ll look into that ninja blade next…
  15. The problem is navigating around all the weeds. Ours is primarily eel grass and clumps of algae that are floating around. Sometimes it’s sub-surface and you run through it without seeing it. I keep the TM as high as possible, but even then it gets clogged up.
  16. I have a Mk 40 lb thrust. Trying to find relief from the weedy lakes I fish. Saw several on line but don’t want to buy that way without a recommendation or two. A local TM repairman didn’t even know about them. My nieghbor has the same motor and he found something on line for 18.00 . I’m not convinced that it will be compatible or work well. Any recommendations would be much appreciated…
  17. This^^^^ I wish I could fish with my dad again. The relationship is more important than the issue. IMHO.
  18. I do have some rage craws . Probably my 3rd choice , but Ive caught fish on them. I just do so well on the other 2 usually that I haven’t seen a need to try anything different. Good point though!
  19. Same! Except I was 22.
  20. I skip T rigs a lot , and don’t use under 10 lb. mono, usually settle with 12. I’ve had one fish break me off on a dock this year. If I fished more stained water, I’d use 40 lb braid.
  21. 80s- 90s : Red shad culprit worm 2000s on : Zoom super fluke in watermelon seed or watermelon red. Senkos/dingers are a fairly close 2nd in recent years.
  22. I haven’t caught as many on them recently either, primarily because I haven’t been fishing with them as much recently. Zoom speed craws and big bite craws are both good producers for me when I use them. Is it possible you fish with them too much? Because fish do eventually wise up with most baits if they are caught enough… I rotate baits so that doesn’t happen.
  23. Thanks. It’s actually the third hit I’ve had. Just missed the other 2.
  24. Haha. I’m sayin’.
  25. Well, not anymore. Finally got one today on one ! Thanks for the encouragement! I posted the pics in Fishing reports…
