I never do well with giving them slack. They get off every time if I do that . I keep pressure on and some of them come loose of the brush. I landed a buddy’s PB by having him keep pressure on the fish and I followed the line down to the fish and just had the reach to grab it…

I’ll try casting first before reading the instructions to see if I can get by without reading the instructions.

The St Johns river is like that . At least the Northern part near where I live. When I was growing up there were weeds everywhere so you could easily pattern fish. Now it seems ALL the weeds are gone, except pads in the creeks. Not sure why, but I assume it’s from spraying. You can still find some really wild Florida lakes, but most of them are in the Ocala Nat. Forest. I think one thing that keeps it from being a complete zoo ( although it is on many water bodies ) is the gators. Most people from other areas are scared to death of them…

I’m very blessed health-wise for being almost 62. I just have lower back pain occasionally, and a mysterious shortness of breath I’ve had for half my life off and on ... Doc said it’s caused by stress, but I’m not really stressed about anything much. I’ve been stung or bit by many different creatures but I’m not allergic to anything I know of. I did get a little short of breath after being stung by a few yellow jackets a few years ago… That was definitely stressful!?

I’m ready for it. Fall is my favorite time of year overall. It’s second to spring for bass fishing though in my area… I enjoy the afternoon bite of fall,which keeps me from having to get up so early for the summer morning bite…and fall here is relative-fall here is like summer up north…?

I only put up money for tournaments. I don’t remember making any kind of bet in fishing. Once I was on a party boat deep sea fishing. There was a voluntary 50.00 per person pot for biggest fish that I did not join. I caught a big amberjack early on that was the big fish most of the day. I was hoping someone else would catch something bigger so I wouldn’t feel bad about the money or being humiliated that I hadn’t joined in. In the last hour, someone caught one a little bigger….

Got out this evening finally for a couple hours. I knew it would be tough , and it was. This was the biggest of 3, caught on a yum dinger. Lost the biggest one that bit of course.

Im good with spinning. Fair to good with casting.

I’m not hearing them most of the time now. I heard one this morning and that was it. Just after dark is when they were real active. As I write this( around 9:15 pm) it is completely quiet out there. Im going to feed him some other stuff like minnows, worms, and little bream just to make sure he has plenty to eat.

Mine was around 11 a.m on Dec . 31st. Very windy and warm . Mostly sunny sky. Caught on a 10 inch grape mann’s jelly worm. Caught it right against the bank in 3 f.o.w.. Im pretty sure it was a bedding fish, but didn’t see the bed when I cast. It was in a little pocket between cattails. I I remember making a long, perfect cast and I think I said “ Bill Dance “ when it fell right where I wanted it to… It was also the only bite I had that morning.. I weighed it on 2 scales - one said 8 1/2 , the other said 9 . Taxidermist said 9 . Only fish I ever had mounted.

Well, he hasn’t gotten all of them yet. It definitely sounds like a reduced number though. These frogs make a strange croak. It sounds like they’re getting strangled… I like hearing them to a point. But out in the lake would be better…

It just got dark, when I start hearing all the frogs. So far , I hear NOTHING. They should be starting by now…

I reckon they could call us “ Alpha “ friends “ Its nice someone else can relate. Sometimes you start wondering if you’re the only one that feels that way…

I have what I consider a lot of friends. I have a few very close friends. Ive had the same experience at different jobs. It’s almost like you cease to exist because you don’t work with them anymore… It’s kind of mysterious to me with friends in general.I do nearly 100 % of the initiating for activities. I gave up trying to understand why that is. It would be so refreshing if a friend would actually reach out to me for a change. I have a generally friendly, laid back personality so I don’t think they are mad at me. When I initiate something, they seem glad to hear from me, and then we enjoy whatever activity we end up doing. I realize it’s not all about me, but it really is strange…?
