  1. In my lifetime (55 years) Florida hasnt had any closed season on bass. And its probably the best state to catch a lunker bass. That may be too simplistic of a theory but there are so many places they can hide that there are plenty out there. And I don't think as many people bass fish as they used to.In the 80s you'd see bass boats being towed everywhere. Now Its somewhat uncommon to see one.At least around here.
  2. Man that's one of my favorite baits!
  3. Caught 3 in 15 min. on a watermelon red trick worm.
  4. Hey.I can't fish tournaments due to my schedule but I can get out for fun occasionally. I live on a 16 acre good bass lake so I mainly fish it for time and convenience sake.
  5. I've caught many more fish on the fluke but I have fished it a lot more.Lately I've started fishing the worm and done well with it.
  6. Caught a very healthy fish with eggs that was exactly 21.5 inches recently and it was 6.3
  7. Hey welcome to the forums!
  8. Hey.welcome !
  9. Some of you sound like you think there's no sport in fishing beds.Sometimes they won't bite no matter what.Sometimes they will.Kind of like when you're not bed fishing. There's nothing wrong with catching and releasing the fish. The problem I have with it now is catching and keeping a bedding fish. And back in the day, most everyone kept them to eat, and catch and release was thought to be strange and even wasteful of time. Its all about perception and popular opinion. If our country keeps going the way it's going,we may be eating them again to stay alive!
  10. Caught my 2nd biggest bass on a golf course pond near the beach with a bubble gum fluke.Caught several other fish with it.Tried it on the home lake and nothing.
  11. There's a stocked pond near 295 and Dunn Ave."Bethesda" fish management area.Sorry, that's the closest pond I know about to you. Also one at oceanway. They should come up if you google Jax fish management areas.
  12. Watermelon red or watermelon seed
  13. I don't know about orange park, but I'd google all the westside parks and check them out.Several of them have stocked ponds.I've never fished them, cause I'm a south side boy, and there plenty of ponds over here.
  14. There are dozens of ponds near me.The residential ponds seem to all have fish. The ponds without houses don't seem to be as good.If its a brand new pond I don't fish it for awhile to let any fish grow up and let aquatic weeds get started.I rarely fish ponds that are void of weeds as I drive by.Of course,I don't fish in peoples yards , only common areas. If it looks good ,I stop and make some casts with my search baits , flukes or senkos.
  15. Its fixing to be 80s this week but its also on big- time at work with no end in sight.Everyone in my area quit so now I've got most of their work.So ...
  16. I snagged a 23 pounder last year.It was 32 inch.
  17. Live shiners or bluegills !!!
  18. I actually used to have a snagless sally and caught a few fish on it.I didn't know you could still get them
  19. I'm trying to pick up some fish on spinnerbaits this year.I mostly fish shallow weedy lakes that are fairly clear. What would be your choice if you could only take one spinnerbait?
  20. Zoom has something similar to this. When you'd reel them in you could see wakes coming from the bass about to nail them. It was a very good bait but they would sometimes tear from casting before you even got a fish.I quit buying them because of it.
  21. Nice fish.
