  1. Maybe it’s the cheapest?
  2. Another good fish at the church pond with the faintest hint of the sun coming up. Zoom horny toad did the trick!
  3. Suprised no one said mcdonald’s. Still the #1 fast food chain, which defies all logic… I will only go there if my wife begs me enough. The only thing there I like is the fries. The one near me has TERRIBLE service. The last 10 ? times they have forgot something in the order. I park and go in and they ignore you as long as possible… Went to an arbys the other day for lunch. The door was locked, but we could see people eating in there. Walked around to the other side and got in. Seems that were only letting a few people in at a time. Don’t know what that was all about, but I’m willing to bet the owner didn’t know. That’s never happened to me before. Not in a big rush to go back, although the food was good…
  4. I sometimes fish between work stops because I’m commission only with my full time job . I don’t do it much in the summer or when we’re real busy. A big Part of living on a lake is paying for it. So I work 6 days a week. Not complaining- I love working. My other job is security at my church and I can fish the ponds there esp. early saturday morning. The chief doesn’t mind. He rather Id be outside than sitting inside in the AC anyway… and I can watch the property because the the 3 ponds are in different parts of the 150 acres… I have played hooky a few times to fish but not in a long time now…
  5. My aunt would come down from N. Carolina once and awhile and bring me some clove gum… As far as the chew goes, I chewed redman, Levi Garrett, and beech nut . White mule was the twist tobacco that would kick your butt. . We only found it if we were in Baker county! Quit when I was around 25 cold turkey… still an accurate spitter though …?
  6. The most annoying fans are Miami fans. At least they used to be . Every school has their share of obnoxious fans. It won’t be Florida’s year, but they’ll compete, maybe gain a win or two more than last year…
  7. Otters ?
  8. I have complete security in where I’m going , because of the Father the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  9. I’m used to Florida heat at this point, having been here since day 1…It doesn’t bother me . I don’t fish much after 10 A.M though because the bite usually slows.
  10. Driving in Florida has become very dangerous. I drive all over Northeast Florida nearly every day, and pray fervently that I don’t die in a wreck or have a heart attack…
  11. I use the dingers more for the reasons you mentioned. I catch way more on dingers overall because I use them way more. I don’t often fish with GY senkos… but when I do , I usually catch more than dingers for the same time allotted…
  12. Our bass club tourneys started at daybreak , and lasted nearly to dark. We would sometimes be up at 4 to get to the ramp before daylight. Our trips home would usually be in the dark. As a young man, it didn’t bother me at all. I will even do it now if someone else drives. But only occasionally. Never back to back days. The 2 day camping/fishing trips are probably a thing of the past for me now too. ?. If I’m fishing in a bass boat with seats , I can fish all day with no problem, although I won’t do it in the Florida summers. But if I’m in my bench-seat jon boat, my back tells me it’s time to quit in a few hours…
  13. This ^^^
  14. Welcome Jacob !
  15. Not this again. I DID get a 5/0 hook in my eye when I was 24. I gently tried pulling it out but stopped when I could feel the eyeball move . My girlfriend took me to the hospital and 5 hours of surgery later, they had done what they could. I had sustained a smashed eye lens and detached retina. When they took the bandage off 3 days later, all I could see was blurry forms. But I could see colors. Now, 38 years or so later , I see out of it pretty good with a special made ( and fairly expensive) contact. I am so blessed to not have to go through my life with a glass eye! I second the motion on safety precautions!!
  16. Nowdays I’ve got wavy hair - One hair waving goodbye to the other one ?
  17. I have been thinking about this more recently. I was helping unload cases of water for a church picnic the other day and my lower back was having a hard time with it. I can’t stand still on a hard surface for long without it starting to hurt and stiffen up. I’m good for about 4 hours of fishing in my bench seat jon boat . I’ll be a little sore the next day. I reckon mine isn’t as bad as many others. All my interests and work has involved hard efforts in the outdoors. I’ve never injured my back to my knowledge, but all the hard work and play must have done it…
  18. I was out at daybreak this morning and fished til mid morning. The first 3 fish I caught were on the TRD popping frog. Only lost one out of the 4 that bit. 2 were blow ups, and 2 were so subtle I didn’t even realize I had a fish until I picked up and felt the fish swimming off. I tried a couple different swimming toads/frogs for a while, and lost one . The sun had gotten over the treetops( yes, I thought of the song), and I got the notion for a trick worm. I immediately caught one on the watermelon seed. It started getting hot , so I moved to the shady side of our island. Ended up with 7 more on the trick worm. Called it a day and ended up with 11…?
  19. Good bounce back from the 24-4 loss the night before…
  20. It was my dad when I was young…I have nothing but happy memories fishing with him. I’ve had a lot of fishing buddies through the years but Jeff is probably the best one. Taught him to bass fish when we were teens. Still fishing with him a few times a year. Now approaching 50 years fishing with him. We’ve never had the slightest disagreement that i can remember. Many of my funniest fishing stories happened with him there. ( He’s usually the reason for it too)?. Also my son Joe. Fishing was the one common ground we had when he was in his rebellious years. He sadly now lives out of state, but hoping he comes home soon. He makes me laugh more than anyone on the planet. He’s an excellent salt water fisherman, and good bass fisherman…
  21. This thread is restoring my opinion of humanity… Congrats on the pb.
  22. ? . The same thing happened in game 3 as game 2. Momentum shift ! ( and putting way too many runners on base ) Congrats to LSU. At least it stayed in the SEC.
  23. That 7.3 I caught with the booyah pc jr. just sipped in the frog. I had thrown it between a dock and patch of grass. I heard a splash behind me, turned to look, and when I looked back , the frog was gone. No splash. There was the slightest ripple coming from where the frog had been. When I set the hook , the fish swam conveniently right by the boat just under the water. She had her mouth open and I grabbed her lip as she went by!
