  1. I saw those in another thread. I ordered them yesterday.
  2. The pro, co, and college winners at Havasu a couple weeks ago caught all or most of their fish on a Ned. I know it had been a staple in Jared Litner's arsenal for decades.
  3. I fish Lew's for ergonomic reasons over Shimano and Daiwa. I really doubt they are out selling those two 5:1.
  4. I just got an SCV rod too and am really impressed with it. Have fun out there!
  5. I had my best day of the year yesterday and we had that massive temperature swing today over here. That's awesome you caught a beast in this. I fished a drop shot for a couple hours at rush hour traffic pace and ground out a 10" largie and called it quits. It's supposed to stay pretty cold for a bit after Tuesday.
  6. Do any of you guys sell these? I need to stock up on some.
  7. 30lb braid with a 12lb CXX leader. That's strong enough where I can straighten out the hook when I get it stick in wood.
  8. I got a Revros a couple years ago on clearance for around $25. It's a bit heavy, but it's incredibly smooth and the drag works well.
  9. That's the reel I use for top water. It's not as fast as it sounds.
  10. If you can find a used Lamiglas "Senko Special" rod they are really good and will run you around $100. It took me a long long time to find the right weightless plastic rod for me. It's $100 over your budget, but I use the Lamiglas Infinity 7'2" Medium. It has a very similar 3M resin to the NRX. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Just an alternative thought.
  11. Oh boy....How much is the Paul Rig going to run us?
  12. 6" Kalin's Mogambo Grub. That's all I used to use, but I'm going to try a Menace grub next time out.
  13. I don't tolerate skunk, so I used my lunch break accordingly. I caught the first one on the new Legend Xtreme. If you're a drop shot disciple like I am it's definitely a rod to consider. I fished the rest of the pond and nothing, threw on a Ned and hit it again and landed three more. These are the best looking fish I have seen out of this little quarry pond. Oh that Ned!
  14. I just got the 7'6" ML/XF Legend Xtreme drop shotter in and wanted to try it out. We hit a local pond and I had five fish on, but they all came off. I was thinking is was the rod being softer than my UMBX's and it wasn't getting the hook in (a buddy landed a 7lb toad with the same rod in my boat last year), I was thinking it was the mono leader because I forgot my fluoro in my boat and I NEVER use mono. I almost, almost, almost blamed my equipment. Then I broke my weight off and I realized I didn't run my tag end back through the hook and it was dancing with the hook sideways and every time I really got into the fish the worm popped out without any hook catching. This whole time my six year old put five fish on the bank on a ned rig. He skunked me and I am totally fine with that! He even caught this deformed looking thing:
  15. I bought my boat without taking it on the water. I kind of knew it was in pristine condition and once I met the owner I had zero worries.
  16. Keitech style swimbait, drop shot, and a ned rig. One of three will work. I promise.
  17. I usually do it for around 15 seconds. You don't want them to get hot enough to permanently change form, you just want to soften them up.
  18. Keel weighted, jig head, wrecking ball, and as a swim jig/chatterbait/spinner bait trailer, A-rig, etc. They work on everything d**n near.
  19. We fished Smith yesterday and it was really slow. I tried the Damiki rig and it worked. Dangling a little fish in front of a bigger fish works. Incredible...
  20. So you caught a bass then shoved a buzz bait in its mouth for a picture?
  21. I use a 5.4:1 Lew's Super Duty, which should be the same reel as a Revo Winch. I really like it.
  22. XXX? Jade Python? Are we talking about fishing here?
  23. I have posted this a couple time before, but Big Bite Baits, boil them, 5/0 EWG. It is identical to the real thing and way more durable and about twenty five cents a piece.
  24. My dad and grandpa hated throwing lures all day and didn't really like bass fishing to begin with. They would both slow troll shad raps while I threw. If I did have a better day than them it wasn't by much and there were times they flat out kicked my butt while sitting on theirs.
