  1. I've had success with Power Pro Superslick Hi-Vis. I've got some on my reel from last season. Fished it all year and it still has vibrant yellow. It's not quite as bright, but it more than suits my needs! I'm trying Seaguar Smackdown ths ywar too.
  2. I like the fast. It helps to have a lighter tip to cast the smaller rigs. I also like hooking into fish with a lighter tip so that it has a bit more give. Less likely to break the light wire hooks.
  3. -St Croix Legend Tournament Bass 610mlxf -Daiwa Tatula Elite 7mlf I've used my Legend Tournament Bass 610mlxf the most for Neds. It works really well, but is a bit stiffer than my Daiwa Tatula Elite 7mlf. Extra fast vs fast makes a big dif for me. The Tatula LAUNCHES Ned rigs!
  4. Can't "like" this enough! I used Roosters, Panthers, a couple generic offerings... nothing compares to an Aglia IMO. Plus they're local!
  5. I got some Rapala fishing pliers years back and they work very well. I prefer forceps though: compact, easy to pocket, good for smallmouth, etc. I've got Berkley forceps and some my mom gave me from work (She's a nurse)
  6. Wow, he really had to twist your arm lol. Nice reels! I may try the spinning model eventually.
  7. I use a double Uni with no issues. It's easy to tie, is super strong and fairly low profile. I do use "lighter" line fishing for smallmouth: 10-15# braid and 8# fluoro, so there's not a lot of line to bulk it up anyway.
  8. As needed. If the latches are faulty, water leaks in, or the box is bent. I dont replace for the sake of it like i would with other things in fishing where fresh can be better. The beautiful thing about the better quality trays I've got now, which are nothing too fancy anyway, is that they last.
  9. They're just so light... even by my finesse standards. Hook into any river Smallie worth it's own in current here and it's gonna bend.
  10. Hi folks, What is your favorite treble hook to replace stock hooks with? Do you vary it or have a specific brand? I'm just gauging preferences before I look into getting some for spring! Went through tackle to sharpen and take stock and it looks like replacement will be best on a few of these lures ??.... mangled in the best way!
  11. Don't you just HATE when you finally decide to make a big(ish) purchase, have a sweet promo code to use, hit the site and then..... they're literally only out of the specific rod model you want?! Dang iiiiit!! <consoles Bait Monkey> "shhhhh shhhh it's oookay.... I'll buy you a few jerkbaits for now." ?
  12. NdYakAngler. Love that guy.
  13. A fair compromise. That would be a bummer though! I love his Sniper jigs... the pike steal them, I snag occasionally, but it's such a confidence bait for me.
  14. Exactly! That's exactly why I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I've had that happen with countless jigs and Aglias as it is.
  15. Seems so soon after the long winter (I'm in Wisconsin). I don't have many jerkbaits: husky jerks, shadow raps, and a couple pointers. I'd love to try some vision 110's but can't swallow the $$ yet. One that I do plan to try is the Jackall Rerange.
  16. Now I wanna fish a jerkbait!! ??
  17. I hear ya!! That's my favorite thing about the tube/craw setup I run: that THUNK! I do fish a lot of Siebert Sniper Jigs too and they SLAM those
  18. Topwater is so much fun! I had a couple days last spring that were lights out on the Whopper Plopper. So many hits! Big ones, small one... literally every cast.
  19. Whopper Plopper 75 and 90 Super spook jr Yo-zuri poppers and pencils
  20. Cool! Ive never used an A-Rig, myself. I've seen some of your bass though, so if these fish are hitting it... it's gonna be awesome!
  21. That's an awesome bite! Not exactly the same, but I fish a lot of inline spinners, and they SLAM those a lot too. Awesome! I've got to get better at getting out early. My summers are super busy and I let fishing slack. Topwater is great on glassy water. Open hook? I snag like crazy here...
  22. Just for fun, what is your favorite way to catch Smallies? Is it a particular technique? Is it a specific lure? Water column presentation? You tell me! Mine is this little guy: 1/4oz Cadman's Smallie Crawlin jig.... tubes, baby bizz bugs, killer kraws... whatever they're hungry for.
  23. +1 more for Eye Surrender! They aren't crazy expensive and vastly put perform other glasses in that 60$ range. I used Amber lenses for the last 3 years with GREAT success. I'm looking to get another pair one of these days too.
  24. Case Sinkin Minnows and Shad. Discovered them last winter and used them all season. Killers! They actually have some sink (obviously with that name) unlike other standard soft jerkbaits I've used. Get into some current and it doesn't matter how long I wait, a fluke is gonna just pop out of the surface. Case can be popped on top, worked subsurface or paused and fished like a senko.
  25. My 6' 10" Legend Bass feels just about right for me. I've got shorter and longer and those feel good too. I guess it's what I use most that feels the best.
