  1. It's in Mississippi it's man made about 40 acres stocked with Florida F-1 hybrid bass. State record here is 18.4 and he weighed it on a scale he didn't call the game and wildlife I was there when he caught it. There has been a 16 and several 12's caught there in the past year Deepest it gets is 25 feet but there is a ton of downed trees in 14 foot of water all through the lake
  2. Do bass move to deep water in muddy water. The visibility in this lake is barely an inch which makes the bass difficult to catch and it's a private lake loaded with Giants. Saturday when I went a man caught an 18lb largemouth out of it off the bank and I was wondering if bass will move deep in summer time with the low visibility. I've heard they only move deep in clear water just wanting to know where to hunt those Giants By the way there is a ton of deep water structure
  3. Never had any luck throwing chatter baits. My favorite all around pond lure would be a Texas rigged soft plastic of any kind or a football jig. Top water works well with smaller fish but never caught any big ones on anything top water. Just curious to see if crankbaits would work well in ponds
  4. What is yalls favorite post spawn bass fishing lure in ponds? I'm curious to see if the answer is different than it would be in a lake
  5. Thanks guys! Gonna go with the 6:3.1 Diawa costal since it takes in the same amount of ipt as the kvd cranking reel at 5:3.1. Plus the blue handle will match the blue pole so it will look sweet!
  6. What about in terms of power? Will it wear me down more with a 6:3.1 even if the inches per turn are the same?
  7. If I get a reel that is a 6:3.1 with 25 inches per turn would it be suited for deep diving crankbaits the same as a reel that is 5:3.1 with 25 inches per turn? A lot of people look at more of a 4 or 5 gear ratio for crankbaits but what if a 6 takes up the same amount of line what is the difference?
  8. I just looked and they say they're on sale but when I check out the reel is still at 100$
  9. I'm thinking about getting a Diawa aird costal reel 6:3.1 with 25 inches per turn and I'm checking to see if that would be ok for fishing crankbaits that are between 10-15 feet. I found one on sale for 65$ and it's hard finding 5:1 or 4:1 reels under 70$
  10. I got a dobyns savvy micro for Christmas and it looks and feels great it's a heavy fast action rod and I'll have to warn you it's more on the MH side like I had heard which is what I was wanting so be sure to order heavier than you would with another brand
  11. I'm looking at either a regular curly tail grub or a twin tail grub
  12. I'm debating between 3/8 and 1/4. There's only 1 3/8 left in the color I want so I hid it until I was sure of what size to get haha

  14. I've never used swim jigs but I hear they flat out work. I'm looking at a bluegill Strike King swim jig but not sure what the best trailer would be. What works for you guys?
  15. I'm looking to get some soft swimbaits such as zoom swimming super flukes. Anyone have color suggestions?
  16. Thanks I ordered a 734 savvy micro guide for Texas rigs and jigs
  17. I heard that Dobyns rods are a little on the softer side. A Heavy action is close to a medium heavy. Anyone have any experience with them to confirm that?
  18. What is yalls favorite color and or style worm to fish Texas rigged? I personally have had a lot of success with a culprit red shad ribontail. Just looking for more varieties to try
  19. I ordered main vein and infection sweet beaver colors anyone have any experience in these colors or suggestions?
  20. I ordered main vein and infection. Infection is a brown and green and main vein is a blue and purple since blue gill are over ran in this lake

  22. What is the best sweet beaver or strike king rodent color for moderately clear water? I'm new to them and need to know what works best to start with
  23. I ordered a 7'3" HF Dobyns savvy micro guide casting rod for fishing Texas rigs and jigs and in worried I got too stiff of a rod. A lot of people prefer a MHF rod for this technique I'm worried I will loose sensitivity with a H rod any suggestions?
