  1. Looks like a redbreast sunfish. My home lake is loaded with them, they love hanging out in the shade of overhanging tree branches and waiting for bugs. Fun to catch with dry flies. Longears are generally more circul in shape and more colorful.
  2. How big were those guys? I hate seeing the biggest bass in the lake at marinas with no fishing signs.
  3. A nice hunk of dead bluegill works wonders as a trailer for a dropshotted pink buzz bait. Use 2 full dead bluegill for the big ones. You must use a 5/16 ounce weight. Hooked what was easily a 15+ pounder yesterday doing that but he broke me off. ?
  4. Hey I'm just a wise cracking smart aleck. Heck, I don't even have an instagram or YouTube channel. ?
  5. Ugly Stiks are renowned for durability, however they lack in sensitivity due to their fiberglass construction. I would recommend a graphite rod over it, such as a Berkeley Lightning Shock, Cherrywood, or All Star Rod.
  6. Buts it's on Instagram... not YouTube... how can I be a master bass fishing star without YouTube???
  7. Cool! I've never used a jelly worm but hear a lot of great stuff about them.
  8. You got any left from those packs?
  9. G. Loomis NRX, Dobyns Champion Extreme, or Megabass Destroyer lol.
  10. I just wanted to tread lightly after they were so generous, if you understand what I'm trying to say. I completely hear what you're saying though. I couldn't find it anywhere online until about an hour ago so wasn't sure if/when they were releasing them. And the site that has the frogs is L and B ig F ish
  11. Did a little searching and saw that another site <---(which keeps getting changed to "another site") got them in a couple days ago, you can see them there. A bit pricey for me, although they are airbrushed and made from what feel like a durable soft plastic.
  12. Sorry but I don't know if they would want me to do that. I don't know what their intentions are for it or when it will be released, but I will tell you it is a great new addition to the Zoom lineup. If I had to guess it will be ready for retail pretty soon, they were already packaged and ready to go.
  13. Outside of Athens, Ga.
  14. Well, decided to visit the Zoom factory today and it was a treat! They are very close to my Grandmother's house and we decided to stop by and check it out. We called ahead and when we walked in it was amazing to see the process of how the lures were made. It was very cool seeing the effort that goes into producing a bag of soft plastics and the people who were responsible for my success with their lures. They gave my brother and I each a hat, shirt, and a pack of unreleased frogs! The lady who showed us around was very kind and knowledgeable about the company. Just a sort of shout out to a great company. Also, the new frogs are a great addition to the zoom lineup, louder than a horny toad. Can't wait to fish them!
  15. Whopper plopper. Not exactly a prop bait, but pretty much the same idea.
  16. Hey guys, soon i intend to try and successfully complete the Georgia DNR's Bass Slam. I am going to try and catch 5 species of bass. While I have figured out easily places to catch Largemouth, Spotted, Redeye, and Shoal bass, Smallmouth don't seem to have a strong hold here. I know they have a small population in Blueridge and was wondering if anybody could chime in on their success there for smallies.
  17. Just to make sure about the green sunfish/rock bass theory, try going out there with some small crappie jigs or worms and a light rod. Post pics of you at baby, O want to see who's responsible for your troubles. ?
  18. My brother recently bought the Daiwa Presso 5'6" ultralight rod. It's perfect, and although slightly pricy is much nicer than any 20$ Walmart special. If you buy this rod you won't regret it. He's got it paired with a pflueger president 6920. Well balanced ultralight combo, he's been slaying big sunfish on it.
  19. Okay thx. Check out the Shimano Exage and Compre E Series Rods. This is such a difficult question because of how clustered the 100$ range is for rods and reel, and you're going to get lots of options on here. In the end, you should be the one to decide on what fits your needs.
  20. The Chronarch and Metanium should have equal casting distance when compared head to head. They have the same spool, braking system, and gearing. The main difference is the frame material, which also effects the weight. The Chronarch frame is composed of a slightly denser material, making it less sensitive than the Metanium. I am really just quoting here, never held either. Check out tackletour, they have done a great review on the Chronarch. I don't think you would be disappointed with either reel, but in my opinion after looking at the features the Chronarch is a better bang for your buck.
  21. Not mentioned, but... Shimano Caenan 150 Daiwa Fuego Own a Caenan, and it is a great reel, one of my favorites. If you're not interested in these my vote goes to the LFS. I have held one and it was pretty sweet, however I like my caenan more.
  22. Stupid question, but what exactly is the 200$ range?
  23. I believe WRB is saying that puts a screw lock onto the eye of the hook and adds a skirt onto the shank of the hook. I couldn't find a downloadable pic, but look up "bass dozers multi use bass jigs" and a pic should come up.
  24. Shhhhh..... I've always had difficulty catching the big largemouth. What technique do you use to catch them, they turn down everything I've thrown at them.
  25. North Georgia has lots of untapped potential for big spotted bass. Lake Burton and Carter's have started to surpass Lanier for trophy Spots. I cannot speak much for Smallmouth, however I know that Tennessee is known for producing some nice smallies.
