I'm trying to decide between the Curado 70 and the Revo ALX. I plan on putting them on a 6'8" MXF casting rod. I've held both in store and there are a few things I noticed. The Revo has a smaller overall profile than the Curado which makes me think it would cast light baits better. I also like the clicking tension knob on the Revo. So far i'm kind of set on the Revo but i'm looking for some reasons why the Curado might be a better choice.
I made a previous post about whether I should get a 7' MM or 7' MF casting rod next and I had pretty much settled on the MF but there is a 6'10" MHF casting rod that I really like but idk if it would make any sense to buy it considering I have a rod very similar to it. My current lineup is a 7' MHF casting rod, a 7'6" MHXF casting rod and a 6'10" MXF spinning rod.
I currently use three combos. A 7' MH fast casting rod, a 7' 6" MH extra fast casting rod, and a 6' 10" extra fast spinning rod. I cant decide between a M moderate or a M fast casting rod. I would appreciate some advice on this.
My Rapala rattlin rap 04 in baby bass... Caught tons of bass lost it in the bottom of a cove about 10 casts later my dad reels it in hooked to his lure. Guess it wasn't it's time to go.
I was on the BPS website and i couldn't find the extreme series spinning rods but I only found the casting rods and the only one left was the 6' M. If they are getting liquidated it could possibly be a good thing because they could go on sale at my local BPS.
I'm trying to decide between the casitas and the pro qualifier. The Casitas retails for $119.99 and the Pro qualifier retails for $99.99 and will soon be $59.99 during the spring classic sale. The Casitas has a composite frame while the pro qualifier's frame is aluminum. I own a Citica and a Pro qualifier reel already and the pro qualifier performs amazingly. I also love shimano but feel like 60 bucks for an aluminum frame reel is a steal. I want the gear ratio to be in the 7 range so I can put it on my 7' MH casting rod and move my 6.4:1 pro qualifier on to my 7' M crankbait rod.
Do any of you guys use spinning rods this short for bass fishing? I'm not sure why but i've always loved the way mine feels. And by the way which would you prefer on a rod like this a 2500 or 1000 size reel?
I noticed that my local Dick's still had a few Sedona FD's at their original 59.99 retail price. The new FE retails for 69.99 would it be a bad idea buying the discontinued model for it's original price?
Is $150 a fair price for an XT? I found one that is in really good condition and i'm trying to decide if I should buy it. It is a 6.2:1 ratio what rod would go with it well for around $150?
I'm looking for a nice multi piece rod to keep in my truck what would be the most versatile rod for trout, panfish, and river bass. I'm considering a 6'6" ML spinning rod with a 1000 or 2500 sized reel.
Which one of these reels would perform better in a finesse situation with light lines and lures? I'm kind of of biased towards Shimano because they have treated me well in the past. I would be interested in some other opinions.
I have a 7'6" MH XF BPS extreme casting rod that feels more like a fast action that i use for frogs, flipping ,and pitching. I have it paired with a Citica 200g7 with 50lb braid.
