  1. Interesting. It seems like the 734 would be the more versatile. Has anyone had a 703c or anything in that size range. Not sure how I didn't see them before but I rarely fish any kind of heavy vegetation and more often then not I am on the bank so the shorter rod might be better.
  2. Casting. I mixed up the model numbers. Its going to be really hard to let the 705 go at such a great price, but I think the 735c will suit me much better. I don't have a ton of money to buy a rod for each different application, so I think the 735c will cover the largest variety of baits. Now just to kick back and see if it goes on sale anywhere soon. Thanks for the help everyone, I really appreciate it.
  3. I am looking to pick up an all purpose rod. The main use is for jigs and texas rigs, but I want to it be pretty well rounded. For this I thought a 7' medium heavy fast action rod would work best. I have narrowed my choices down to the Dobyns Champion 704Sf and the Champion Extreme 705. The regular champion costs $250 and fits my desired specifications exactly. The Champion extreme is heavily discounted right now for $225. The only problem is it is mag heavy and not mh. Being so heavily discounted I am tempted to get the champion extreme even though it is not exactly the specs I wanted, and I was wondering which one y'all would choose
  4. My understanding from reading tackleunderground discussions is that you can sell baits that are not patented as long as it does not infringe on the copyright.
  5. Yup. I haven't seen anything about the sale from Dick's themselves, heard about it through word of mouth.
  6. Yes. Not sure how long it lasts but Dicks has a good sale going on right now. A bunch of rods are on clearance. On top of that the whole fishing section is 25% off and I've heard some stores are 50% off. Just got a glass St. Croix Mojo Bass for $52. It retails for $130-140 on tackle warehouse. Although that was a good deal the selection wasn't great so they might not have what you specifically want, especially the higher end stuff. Depending on how far of a drive it is for you I would definitely check it out.
  7. What is your price range for the total combo? Also what techniques do you want to use it for?
  8. If you have a Dicks sporting goods near you check it out. Just picked up a glass mojo bass for $52. Retails for $130-140 on TW. It was marked down to $70 and all fishing stuff is on sale for 25% off. I don't know when the sale ends, but there is a lot of tackle on sale too so its worth it even if the rod selection isn't great.
  9. Top water frogs for sure. The first time I fished it I caught my personal best. It was the first and only fish I have caught on one. Watching the blowup was insane, and I can't wait until the weather is warm enough to fish them again.
  10. Once I lost a brand new crank bait in an underwater tree branch. A couple weeks later I was fishing the same tree with heavier gear and pulled the whole thing up. Got my crank bait back and the hooks hadn't even rusted yet.
