  1. Black Mann's jelly worm on a J95B off set hook with a 1/8 ounce bullet sinker. I remember that first fish like it was yesterday and it was in 1979.
  2. I don't use it as a stand alone color. I will use it as a jig trailer and when laminated with green pumpkin. The Okeechobee Craw has been a good producer in stained waters.
  3. Memorial Day is a hallowed day for me. I wanted to start a post that gives members the opportunity to share names of those we know, who were relatives, who were in the service are are currently in the service of our country or countries. To all of you and them, you have my respect and thanks. 4. It's a conspiracy that began during the cold war.
  5. Dobyns Champion 805CB Glass Paul Mueller model, Diawa Tatula 200 with #12 Sunline Super Natural Mono. Works for me.
  6. Some of us still remember when BPS was it and you called a spoke to an order taker and gave them the catalog reference, the item, size and color then the quantity. Your order showed up in 10 to 14 days. My last TW order took eight days. That's fine in a time when people get peed off because it took four minutes to get their fast food order. I hope TW gets back to a new normal like everyone else.
  7. I bought the Fuego LT last year and really like it. I was able to grab it for eighty bucks.
  8. That's exactly how I learned. Dedicated myself to an all day trip with one bait and discovered what and why it works.
  9. I drive by Swafford Pond when I fish the Mossyrock end of Riffe. Bass are a renewable resource but it takes time to grow them. If you enjoy fishing Swafford, put them back because it's not as good as it used to be. Glad to have you with us. Doug
  10. I do that every season. Lucky for me I have ten fingers.
  11. Both are good baits.
  12. This pretty much says it all.
  13. I fish two specific spinnerbait rods. For heavy to moderate cover a 7'3" MHF. I want the rod to lock up and have enough power to penetrate that larger hook and to turn fish quickly. For open water or river smallies I prefer a 7'3" MH composite rod. Smallmouth seem to crush a spinnerbait and a more forgiving rod is an advantage when a fish goes airborne.
  14. Good to hear you're back
  15. I think the manufactures have answered the question when they placed trailer keepers on the jig. A trailer compliments the jig, adds action, buoyancy and can modify the profile.
  16. See avatar
  17. The wife was looking for some photos and found this one from 1984 of my entire bass arsenal and tackle stash. At the time this was a lot. Now, not so much.
  18. Take care of them and they will take care of you.
  19. There are two colors that are must haves in my region for smallmouth.
  20. There's something about three monsters featured in concert. Stunning.
  21. Two top five finishers threw this bait at the Classic and I can't find it available. Been a Normans guy for over thirty years and they slipped one by me. Dad gummit. Anyone got some scuttle butt on this model?
  22. Please post when you graduate because I want to send you a graduation gift Bud!
