As a reforming tackle junkie I have changed my perspective about what I buy. I used to buy lures of all categories based on the lure looks fishy and I might find the circumstance where it will fit. Now I know where and when I’ll be fishing and see a lure as fitting that situation. That’s how I looked at the Megabass Dark Sleeper. I know the exact situation where that lure will work. And it did. There’s no need to buy a six inch spoon. I’ll never fish a venue where that lure is a fit. Just my perspective.
You are on the right track. The Champion 744C is extra fast and there is no 4 power that replicates it’s action. It’s like a custom action for Jigs. It locks up pretty quick. I have fished wobble heads with it and it’s a good action for that application.
The Kaden 744C is a fast action but more consistent with a Champion 734C. The action flex transitions deeper into the blank but when it locks up the power shines. Mine is dedicated to swim jigs. I could or would fish every bait you listed with confidence.
I ordered a Kaden 745C this week and that rod should be good.
Nice broad selection to cover numerous techniques. I would suggest the Dobyns Kaden 735 CB over the Fury. It has the ability to fish a 1.5 SB, Lipless, and up to a 5XD size bait. As a side note, it makes a very good chatter bait rod as well.
Champion: 703SF or 733SF if you like the full rear grip. Extremes are 703 or 743SF but good luck finding stock. Also, the Champion 733SF is made with the previous generation Xtreme blank.
There you go.
My local shop had a 20 percent off all warm water lures and guess what was all by itself on the bottom corner? Six pack of green pumpkin Max Scent flat worms. Evidence demands a verdict.
