I’m a curious person by nature, especially when it comes to lures. I was pondering a couple of hard baits that have a good following yet I’ve yet to buy one even though there are some colors that look great. What are they? SRO Rock Crawler 55 and Duo Realis Apex Vibe. Is there that one bait out there that you just haven’t thrown in the cart yet?
Trying to carry all my crankbaits is too cumbersome. The baits are separated by type and in their respective boxes on a shelf near the boat. I have some day or trip boxes. When I determine where I’m going I select the baits out of the “pantry” and load in those boxes. It makes no sense carry baits that won’t come into play. I do the same with jigs, spinnerbaits and plastics. I always carry my terminal boxes though.
I do have multiple cranking rods. Same process. I take combos only required for the baits I selected. No reason to take a socket set when I’m just changing electrical switches.

You have about $600.00 combined and maybe more. Those are all wonderful reels and totally fishable. It would be a crime to just display them.
I’ll fish a spinnerbait in all levels off clarity. Clear gets double willow silver/silver. Lightly colored gets double willow silver/gold. Moderate stain gets Colorado/willow with silver/gold. High stain gets Colorado/Indiana in silver/gold and a heavy stain/low visibility get a red Colorado and gold Indiana.
Of the categories listed, the jerk bait. Over the years I’ve had enough experience with most baits to know what lure or techniques would be the most effective and or efficient but the jet bait still stumps me. When the conditions seem to suggest a jerk bait would illicit bites, I’m not seeing the bait trigger that response. I need more time on the water with them.
Cabelas had a special deal on Invizex last year for 47 percent off. I bought eleven spools. It’s reliable and performs.
Seaguar Basix should be out soon.
Bait casting lends itself to certain lures/techniques than spinning and spinning versus bait casting. My ratio of time fishing for smallmouth over largemouth has increased dramatically so I’ve added several spinning rods over the past several years.
I used to fish the lizard, kickin frog, craw frog, 11, and the jumbo. It’s true they were a high maintenance bait but bass would hold on to them so even a dweeb like me could figure out I was bit.

I remember the days when professional baseball players were promoted by a thing called a baseball card. When I was his junior high they offered a high tech skill class called typing but you had to use all your digits.
