When punching was new, a tube was the go to plastic. Timmy Horton and Shaw Grigsby each won a BASS event punching tubes. I like to pitch craw tubes for largemouth.
Remember Robert Lee flipping and pitching tubes on the Delta Tom?
Something to take into consideration regarding rip rap in the transition where the rock ends or what would be the deepest point of the grade. This line of the rip rap can be very irregular, provide current breaks and if the transition is to clay or mud, will concentrate crayfish.
I refuse to give up on this bait. I know it’s a niche’ bait and I just have to hit the right situation. I don’t force feed smallmouth. I’ll do a hurrah post when it it proves itself.
Curado B series reels are the best performing bang for your bucks reels made to date. That includes Scorpions and super frees. A bit bulky but just pieces of power fishing goodness. OG Zillions are the same way. I have two.
I prefer casting set ups. I have a pair of Dobyns Champions, a 704CB With a Tatula Elite and 10 lb Invizex and a 684CB with the same reel but 8 lb Invizex. Even though both have moderate actions the blanks rebound quickly so the snap the baits to get them to react.
I really value this forum and the relationships as they are. There is a central theme of sharing. It’s a special place to interact with such a diverse group. Glenn has invested a big part of his life here and his values are evident.
Thanks to all!
I like it and the body style. I would throw that with double willow gold front and silver back. I would like it for smallmouth on a low light day with choppy surface.
