  1. Those weights in open water? You are solid.
  2. Perfect timing Mike. Order placed.
  3. Customs. Never out of the package and 19 or so months old. Skirts? Yup, Siebert collared at two for a buck. It does not speak of quality though.
  4. I went to grab two Z Man Chatterbaits I had as back stock and found the skirts undone and the bands were dried up like an earth worm laying on a hot sidewalk. Be prepared.
  5. Almost identical to my progression. Kunnan rods. That brings back memories. But then came the LEWS BB1 and BB1N.
  6. Ron, you are going to be pleasantly surprised at the advancements in reels and the options available. Your initial considerations are all good. I would strongly consider the Tatula SV TW. The Magforce cast control is extremely user friendly and the SV spool provides better control with lighter lure weights. This will aid your transition. I’ll also second the Dobyns Sierra series. Good luck in your selection.
  7. I guess Washington’s law makers are preparing to vote on legalizing magic mushroom soup.
  8. Thai chicken coconut curry. My favorite.
  9. I’m for a composite as well. There are a number of all graphite rods with nice moderate actions.
  10. I used to fish 8 flouro on the spool. I hate line twist. I moved to braid on the spool and a flouro leader. The clearer the water, the longer the leader. I’m very happy with this set up and line twist is no longer an issue.
  11. Well that postal worker now qualifies to work as a baggage handler at any major airline.
  12. I don’t know about you Clark, but I sure am enjoyin’ it!!
  13. Thank you KP Duty for stimulating the US economy.
  14. I am with TOXIC. A 1/4 ounce football head with a 3/0 hook and a hula grub is always on my deck.
  15. Did someone whisper replicate?
  16. Brown and purple is productive for me.
  17. YouTube video has Fieder state it has all the features excerpts the SV spool making it “a price point reel.” Okay. Need more data carbon unit.
  18. I’m convinced that, if I’d had a reel with an 8:1 ratio in the late 70’s through the 90’s I would have hooked and or landed a lot more fish. That includes steelhead.
  19. I have two spools enroute. 12 and 15 lb. I’m optimistic that this product will be a good value based line. Seagar doesn’t want a bummer.
  20. Evidence demands a verdict.
  21. Find them with crankbaits and catch them on plastics.
  22. I just picked up a Fritzside 5 crankbait. It had a thin wire round bend size 6. A Berkley Fusion ?? I dunno but not a super sharp hook. I was able to put KVD short shanks in size 4 without risking hooks tangling, reducing bending that hook and getting a markedly sharper point. I don’t have to do this often but this bait seemed to benefit from the change.
