  1. Happy Birthday, hope you have a great one !!!!
  2. Ned Rig will get you bites. Try green pumpkin TRD on 1/16oz head. Fish slow and then slow down some more if necessary.
  3. I started using the Ned Rig last year and used it probably 75% of the time. I like chatterbaits and crankbaits but when you get over 65 year of age, it really wears out your arms and shoulders. Ned Rig is body friendly. Great write up by the way. I have been using it exactly the way Ned does and have caught a bunch of fish.
  4. This ^^^^. I might use a higher ratio for shallow cranks but for deep, 5:1.1.
  5. I got 6 BB1's and have 2 older 80's BB1s. Never had a problem out of any of them. You can get bad ones from any brand, customer service is what you need to look for when buying anything.
  6. I also use the long rope trick, no problem launching. The problem is loading. If I can use my outboard to power load no problem. On my city lake, I can not use the OB so I made a walkway. I push the boat as far as I can away from shore and get on the walkway and pull it as far as I can on the trailer, I then can reach the eye of the boat and winch it the rest of the way on the trailer. My boat is aluminum which also helps.
  7. The only crawfish I buy at the store is the ones I eat, along with corn, potatoes. I get my bait crawfish from a ditch.
  8. I really like the Smithwick Rattling Rogue in silver with black back, white belly. They are also one of the cheapest.
  9. Don't do a lot of cooking and no baking but I sure love to eat which I why I am always on a diet. About the only thing I cook is something on the grill and I fix breakfast every morning, eggs, grits , bacon.
  10. AJ, those steps looks great, I have seen them on some boats. They are high price but it sure beats a twisted or broken ankle or leg.
  11. Don't know about the Trivex lens but I just don't like glass next to my eye, JMHO.
  12. I guess if you wanted one of their rod or reels it would good, never see anything that I need or want on sale.
  13. Welcome back, guess I have joined while you were gone.
  14. Big Bait is correct. I have 5 BB1's and have never paid over $125, have to shop around.
  15. Started dipping Coppenhagen back in the 60's and dipped for probably 30 years and quit. One of the reason is I had a son and didn't want him to dip. One of the hardest things I have ever done but glad now I did it. I really don't see how people afford it now. I think it is over $4 a can. When I started it was 23 cents. I think I am very fortunate to not get mouth cancer.
  16. Wondering if anyone is running synthetic oil in an older outboard, mine is a 1996 90hp Johnson. I guess I am look for something maybe cleaner and less smoking, any brand better than the other, using Johnson oil now. Also what spark plug is everyone running. I did a little Googling and it seems like most people like Champion plugs. I am running NGK. Is the Champion a hotter plug or better plug for my motor?
  17. For the price, $79, it is hard to beat the Lew's David Fritts cranking rod.
  18. This is the exact rod I use for throwing a frog. I highly recommend it. I use 40 or 50# braid and can throw it as far than I really need too. I also use this rod for Carolina Rigging and for for pitching. Great rod !!!!!
  19. I have tried tying the FG knot but haven't had much success. I guess I really need to just take some time and learn how to tie it.
  20. I really wanted to use fc on my spinning reels but I got tired of the loops and losing line. Once I learned to tie the Alberto knot, I was good to go with braid fc leader.
  21. Exactly, and while you have them out, go buy a extra bearing, seal and with some grease keep them in your boat/truck in case one does go out.
  22. How good is the preloaded contour. maps?
  23. Although the Plano might be good, I also like the worm binders better.
  24. I use the Pitbull Tackle cutters on braid. I haven't tried all of them but I don't see how any could be any better.
