  1. Braid with leader.
  2. I bet a lot comes from not putting it in park/gear. I did see a wife/girlfriend nearly sink a jeep. I don't think she ever drove a manuel transmission. It didn't go all the way but when he finally had to leave the boat and pull it up, water came out when the door was open.
  3. I was going to say that.
  4. Same here, it feels really weird to reel with my left hand. I guess it what you get use to.
  5. That is a bunch of good looking jigs. Really like the Native Craw.
  6. I have done really well with this one, at least 80-90% success.
  7. I wouldn't worry, I'm sure you will be covered by the retailer or by Powell.
  8. Sorry 12, this southern boy is not appreciating, come on spring.
  9. I have always used a 10/2 amp charger forever. Most cost between $40-$60. Believe I got the last one at Walmart on sale for $40. it was a DieHard.
  10. Don't do it, not a good idea. You never know what this guy might be toting, hard to whip a 38. You really have nothing to gain that I can see, let it go.
  11. I use 10# Power Pro in yellow with 7# Sunline Sniper FC leader using an Alberto knot. I would love to use straight FC but I can't deal with the twist and braid cast so much better.
  12. I recommend this type of job. I was not a lineman but a cable splicer. A lineman works on overhead lines, a cablesplicer work underground lines. I was there for 41 years, only job I ever had. Starting pay is good and they have great benefits. I was able to keep all my medical insurance, dental vision, when I retired. I also had 5 weeks vacation when I had 25 years. Along with my retirement, Social security (which you may never see) and my 401k I make it along fairly well. You can nearly make as much as you want if you don't mind working overtime. I knew a lineman that worked OT all the time, made about $140,000 a year. You will never get rich but you can make a good living.
  13. Think you got a good deal, looks like a solid boat
  14. Loved to watch projects like this. You got it for a steal which leaves more money to put in the project.
  15. I will go with the Booyah Pad Crasher followed by the Scum Frog.
  16. Won't regret this, I have a few and they are worth it.
  17. Catt I like the way you think especially the chocolate milk and a big ole honey bun.
  18. If you just to have one line I would recommend 14# mono. Cast great and would be a good line and test for Texas rig and crankbaits.
  19. My favorite is to cast it out and let it set for about 15-20 seconds then shake it and try not to move it as much as possible. I then take a complete turn of the reel (gliding) shake it let, repeat until I think I am out of the strike zone. I guess you could call it like the others said, glide and shake.
  20. Merry Christmas!!!!!
  21. Most of my rods are 6'6" except my pitching/carolina rod. I grew up where a 5'6" was the standard with a pistol grip handle. Shorter is a lot more accurate which is my most concern.
  22. I still like mono in 12-15# test.
  23. I had a 1984 Bass Tracker. Back then, I think you had 3 different models, all of them were brown. I didn't think that the brown was so bad. I guess different strokes for different folks.
