  1. Resist the bait monkey, why, that's no fun!!
  2. There is probably several good answers but here is what works for me. I use a Lews 6 1/2 foot med. rod, with a Pflueger 30 size XT Supreme reel. I spool it with 10# test Power Pro yellow braid. I have about a 5 foot 7# test Sunline Sniper leader joined with a Alberto knot. Most of the time, I throw a 1/16 oz jig with a TRD or some other Z Man plastic. This what I use probably 80% of the time.
  3. Well I finally had to use these 2 items. Really strange I just posted a pic a few days ago of these. On top of that, I was not fishing, I wasn't even messing with tackle. I open a cabinet and when I did I got hooked by a crankbait on my pegboard, hard to image I know. I finally cut the lure off and convinced by wife to pull the string to pop it out while I held down the shaft of the treble. Popped out just like it suppose to without any pain. I was really worried that my wife would pass out. Just to let everyone know that I tied some side cutters that I had but was unable to cut the treble off with them. It took the pliers that you see in the picture. If you keep some pliers for this purpose, make sure they will work. Sorry, forgot to take pictures but it really did happen.
  4. Contacts, little trouble but they are worth it.
  5. Keep this in my boat all the time. Never know when I might need it.
  6. I haven't back off my drag in years in my Lews, can't see that it's had any effect.
  7. What A-Jay said. The best fuel treatment is non-ethnol gas. I have a 1996 2 cycle and I use non ethanol gas but I still put a little Startron and Sea Foam in. I am not changing, if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it!!
  8. Don't be without a 8" junebug lizard in the spring time on Ross Barnett.
  9. I agree, my meaning was to imply that is know canoes don't have kill switches!!!!
  10. Sad to hear something like this, possibly could have been prevented. I know they were in a canoe but also remember to hook up your kill switch if your running an outboard.
  11. That is awesome, congrats!!!!
  12. I would surely try junebug. It probably is my most productive color. However, you body of water is probably different from mine as far as water type. Try a few packs.
  13. Went to my local Dicks last night, no more fishing section. Hardly anyone in there.
  14. Sounds like a good buy to me. Give it a test ride and decide for yourself. A few years ago I bought a 1997 boat in great shape so I have nothing again buying old if it is in great condition. I would get a compression test just to be on the safe side. Make sure all the switches do what they suppose to. Good luck with your buy,
  15. Praying for Mr. Wood.
  16. Like everyone else, had great service with Lew's.
  17. Z Man TRD in either green pumpkin or junebug on a 1/16oz head.
  18. Junebug Zoom trick worm with shaky head.
  19. That's some might fine eating there!!! Nice catch.
  20. Gave me a headache just watching. ? I will just stick to my Alberto knot, works for me every time.
  21. What brand is that, I like the drain on the bottom. Did you order off the net or pick up local, where?
  22. That is my most expensive bait but I don't pay $20 for them. Look around the internet and you can find them for $12 and some change. Yes, to me, they are that much better.
  23. Same here, probably don't fish that much. ?
  24. I love to read about this kind of thing, well done!!
  25. Saved a lot of money with this one.
