    Not the best line to use on a spinning reel. The XL is the line you want, has less memory. Big Game is OK on a casting reel however.

    Just got word my lake is going to open Monday, probably be crowded but I will be there.

    My home lake, Ross Barnett, 10 minutes from ramp, had been closed for several weeks. Rumor is that the Gov. might be reconsidering opening it next week with restrictions.

    Go with the BB1, they are just about bullet proof. I have 7 of them, never a problem.

    If I had to stay around $100,I would go with a Pflueger President 30 reel and a Lews Hank Parker spinning rod.

    14# mono, when I started fishing, this is what I used, of course then, it was about the only line to use. You did have a choice, Trilene or Stren.

    If you are watching the Bass Master Classic, it looks like red is the color. I also suspect that is it is a vision thing.

    I would go with 16# test, been using it for years with no problems. Sniper 16# is actually smaller diameter than most 14# lines.

    Strong line and a pair of pliers!! Well not quite but pretty close, spinning is a little different.
