  1. Happy Anniversary A-Jay, hope you and Lund have many more.
  2. I remember them, guys I remember are John Powell and Bobby Murry. Funny how styles change. Remember when shorts were shorter.
  3. Surprised they lasted long as they did. The 4 stroke is so much better motor, wish I had one.
  4. Take a kid fishing whenever the opportunity come around. I had rather see them on a lake or pond fishing than behind a computer screen playing games.
  5. I remember doing this back in the 80's/90's. I probably got it from Doug Hannon. I don't think I used any weight other than the swivel. I used a bubble gum work or a junebug worm. Might have to try it again. Last 2 times I went fishing, I used a old system, slider fishing. Caught 30 in 2 days.
  6. For the money, I think you did GOOD!!!
  7. I have been using Sunline Sniper for years and see no need to change. Only problem with Sunline, I can't get it local but I buy all the line I am going to need for a year on Black Friday. If I wanted something I could get local, I would probably try Seagar.
  8. I have broken 2 rods my entire life of fishing. Both was 2 years ago about 6 weeks apart. Broke both on the front boat cleat. They were under the boat cleat and not looking I pick them up and there goes a perfectly good rod. You would think that I would get some cleats that fold down but I keep putting it off. I guess I don't learn by mistakes.
  9. Good information, they are out to seal your money.
  10. I use regular PP on all my spinning and frog rod. Tried super slick a few years back. Can't remember why I didn't like it but all I use now is the regular PP.
  11. I use to be a spinnerbait/crankbait person. I would throw a worm every now and then. Now, it mostly a plastic of some kind. Talked to a young fisherman in the same area I was fishing, said he caught nothing. He was throwing something fast. I caught 14 on a worm, 2 days later I caught 16 in the same area, all on a worm. I still throw a spinnerbait and crankbait but now I'm primary a worm fisherman.
  12. Takes up too much room especially on swim baits.
  13. Does yours have a SD card. I don't have the same model as you do but mine saves it on the card when I hit the stop recording.
  14. I agree running separate wires would be the best. I couldn't on my boat so I feed the bow fish finder to the bow lights. No problem so far.
  15. We call them grinnel in my part of the country.
  16. Trash got to be a big problem at my reservoir, especially below the spill way. They threaten to close fishing down at the spill way if it continued to be an issue. They closed it for a few days to clean up the trash and then reopened it. Now you have a to have a trash container with a trash label on it. If caught without it, big fine. Now you have to a trash bucket/bad in the boat also labeled trash. It did not completely solved the problem but it is much better. Much cheaper to buy a plastic bucket from Lowes than to pay a fine.
  17. When I am using spinning gear, I want my finger holding the line to be the braid, so I guess that would be no leader on the spool. When I use braid on casting, I don't use a leader. Normally I use just braid pitching/frogging.
  18. Started Slider fishing back in the 80's. Still have one of his short slider rods. Think I may have to start back Slider fishing some. Enjoyed the video.
  19. Running a 1996 Johnson 90 hp, nothing wrong with a old Johnson once you learn how to crank it. ?
  20. Love it, love it, love it!!!!
  21. Vienna sausages in barbeque sauce, saltines, and a moon pie. Washed it down with a RC Cola.
  22. I use Power Pro Hi Vis yellow in 10# test, no problem seeing it.
  23. I carry most of the things mention plus these linesmans pliers. If you try to cut a hook from a crankbait ( when you get hooked) you might be surprised that you normal pliers won't cut the hook or split ring..
