  1. Daiwa sv103 for $202. You got to be kidding me...
  2. Im starting to realize this. Luckily Im in the "in between" stage right now. No kids or other big responsibilities, have a job paying decent money. Enough that I cant afford very high end gear or an expensive bass boat but it wouldnt be too hard to save up for a nice kayak and a new nice combo (2-300 dollar rods and reels) a couple times a year.
  3. Higher weights definitely make it easier to control and pitch. Ive stuck with 3/8th on calm and shallow water, but Ive already started to transition into 1/2ounce for that application. For me atleast if the bite gets tough, I dont have any really small jigs to downsize to, at that point I usually just go to a dropshot or ned rig
  4. I have a Diablo spec R and I love it.
  5. I love my sv103 so much. Literally everything I could want in a reel, exactly what I was hoping for.
  6. What do you guys think about using shad colored ones like "pro blue" in waters that have no shad whatsoever? I'm sure they'd still catch fish but surely pro blue shouldn't be the best producing one on that sort of water where it might in places that shad is a main forage?
  7. the seller I look at most often on there is "fishing-goods-japan" I see alot of $17 onetens right now, trick darters are $10-14. shipping becomes insignificant as long as you buy a few. they run good deals every once in a while. 20% or 30% on some I think.
  8. Haha this describes me perfectly
  9. You can find them a lot cheaper than that. Look at a large seller on ebay, granted their used but in excellent condition. Looks like 12-15 if I remember correctly
  10. Also Daiwa has the SV103 that is out. Same frame as the og zillion, sv spool, aluminum frame, great reel
  11. Yeah definitely awesome thread. I cant think of anything I do thats too unique yet, still figuring out my "style" so to speak.
  12. I dont see any reason to stay loyal to any manufacture. Im still pretty new to this (this will be my 3rd season), and to be honest since my first Megabass rod I honestly dont think Ill go to any other rod manufacture. I love my new Daiwa Sv103, and plan on getting a Shimano Stradic for my new spinning set up.
  13. What does the sustain offer that the FK does not? Obviously not much because it looks pretty easy to find a $200 sustain FG. These reels are a few years old right? I know the Stradic FKs are loved here but if someone could sell me on what might make a Sustain FG better Id like to hear it.
