  1. Thank you guys ! I feel Just like home! hopefully when I visit other places to fish ill see everybody there! @Glen, congratulations on this webpage/forum its of a HUGE help to new and old anglers! I appreciate all the effort in maintaining this project. Big thanks also to moderators!
  2. Boat, for example with what set i can cover most techniques, going to a tournament.
  3. I only have a rod with a reel and I'm looking to invest in a couple more rods and reels so, what are your 3- 5 rod and reel sets and why(Budget friendly if posible). Example Set 1: X rod with Y reel with Z line for A,B, and C technique. Set 2: X rod with Y reel with Z line for A,B, and C technique. Set 3: X rod with Y reel with Z line for A,B, and C technique. Set 4: X rod with Y reel with Z line for A,B, and C technique. Thanks!
  4. We don't have BPS or Cabelas in El Paso but we have lots of Walmart 2 Academy's and 1 Dicks . Academy has a very wide variety and competitive prices with Walmart. Dick's is ok and the guy in charge of the fishing department does not have a clue about tackle, lures hooks etc.
  5. Thank you! That is a great story, Im looking to develop the borderplex (El Paso TX, Las Cruces, NM and Ciudad Juarez) in this sport I think it has great potential, its something very different from what we are used to. Potentially could be a business too there's nothing better than being pay to do what you love.
  6. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome is awesome to meet and talk with people with the same passion for fishing! Im looking to contribute as well !
  7. Hi everyone! New to the forums I’ve been fishing all my life whenever and where ever I could; I live in the middle of the desert so this is a “rare” sport for the region. I was born, and I currently live at El Paso Texas which is border city with Ciudad Juarez where I studied all my life and lived as well. Recently took fishing more seriously, participated in a local tournament were I won the 3 prizes: biggest catch, most accumulated weight and most fish caught. This scored me an invitation to be in the state team representing Chihuahua State at the national championship, the top 5 places would represent Mexico in the world tournament. I finished 22nd from 134 teams I don’t own a boat, had to rent a basic small boat (engine 15 HP + Fiber glass (I think) boat+ paddles) no electronics, sonars, etc. about 5 teams had this same situation but none of the ranked better; and I used only 1 fishing rod. Fav bait: Plastics, Gary Yamamoto 7 inch Watermelon Black Flake Senko Rigged Texas style (weightless) Fav set up (rod/reel): Mitchell pro 300 Spinning reel with Shakespeare Ugly Stik GX2 spinning Rod (8-20-Pound Test), 7-Feet/Medium-Heavy Till know this is the only Rod and Reel I could afford but, I’m looking for 5 solid budget friendly bait casting sets. This site greatly influenced me about getting sponsors, and my techniques and strategies! Without the information i got from this site I wouldn’t even able to go! This is me at the tournament with my record catch: 4.4 lbs
