  1. Thanks everybody. I am ordering a 6" bull shad slow sink in dirty bone.
  2. What weight do you think it handles the best?
  3. One lake is mainly shad and the other has a ton of talapia.
  4. I dont really know much about these 3. I have thrown the 7.8 Keitechs and the shellcracker G2 a little, but want to grab one of these now. Which one should be my first? Throwing it on an IROD Genesis II Swimbait Jr Rod rated 1-4oz with a Tatula HD reel. I fish from a kayak and beat banks and fish up in canals. I figure it needs to be a slow sinking one to get fewer snags.
  5. I throw them on the owner finesse ball head jig as my "weedless" ned rig. I like them so much I make my own for me and my son. He can always catch a few with that setup.
  6. What weight head needs to be used to give it good action? I thought in the past strike king said 1/4 oz on their rage tail products but that is heavier than I am looking to use.
  7. 1/0. Just reel into a hook set.
  8. I was just not sure how the new ones compared to the originals. For example I know Dobyns would need a mag heavy to equal a regular heavy in most other brands.
  9. I am looking to buy my son in law his first bait casting setup. I started using my original Daiwa Tautla 721HFB rated 3/8-1 1/2 oz 12-25 lb line to throw 4.8 Keitechs on a flashy swimmer and it has worked great. He caught 3 on this setup today and wants one of his own. Since you can't get these rods any more what would be compatible to this in the $100-125 range?
  10. Look into open pour molds. Tell your friends to save their used up plastics for you. Melt them down and make baits. Edited to say this is the dumbed down version of this. Lots of safety equipment needed to.
  11. Dang, that's not what I wanted to hear.
  12. Anybody have a comparison between the OG tatulas and the Aird X rods? I normally aim for the $100-150 price range but I used my original heavy fast Tatula rod to throw 4.8 keitechs with a flashy swimmer and it worked perfect. I felt like the heavy gave me a better hookup over my medium heavy since when I set the hook my kayak moves toward the fish.
  13. I bet that would be a good choice. I use and like my Tatula 7'2" MHR. That is a medium heavy regular (or reaction) rod made by Daiwa which is considered by most a moderate fast. I like a 6.? ratio reel b/c i naturally reel faster and it just helps me slow it down. It works for the way I like to fish them. I have never really tried to burn them, but if I wanted to I might move up to a 7.
  14. First of 2020. My goal this year will be to fish more. It needs to warm up though.
  15. Anybody tried these?
