Think St. Croix tends to be on the heavier side (just from what I've read) but I'm not too sure as that's all I've ever fished. Hopefully someone else can chime in.
Think you're better off dedicating one for trout and another for bass fishing considering some of the other stuff you like to throw. If that isn't an option id probably go with a Medium Fast.
Not sure where you're fishing but smallies nail Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craws on the Upper Potomac / Shenandoah / and James.
Poppers also treat me well early AM and PM.
If I'm not fishing rivers I do well with trick worms, t rigged senkos, and black/blue jigs (occaquan / cove).
Not too many local tackle shops in the Northern VA area (few fly fishing shops) but nothing else that I'm aware of. Usually have to drive ~90 minutes to a Bass Pro. If I'm in a pinch I'll go to a DSG or Gander Mountain and they both are usually lacking in product.
Yeah, not expecting much. Gonna be in the area so I figured I'd stop by. Have an old Sedona I might trade in. I'll probably just end up grabbing some hooks and weights.
Have you tried any copolymer line? A lot of guys seem to like the Yo Zuri Hybrid stuff. I don't have any personal experience with it but plan on trying it on my next reel.
Can't go wrong with Gitzit Tubes! I also use Coffee Tubes from Strike King.
I usually huck em out there and I'll bounce them off the bottom. Pop pop let it drop etc etc.
