  1. Good afternoon y'all, I have had a Solix 15 and a Helix 10 installed on my boat for about 8 months now and am still fighting what seems to be compatibility problems. I have invested a small fortune in getting the necessary cables and adapters to make everything talk to each-other. I have both of my control units up to date with the latest software and still can't seem to get my helix to see my solix transducers and vice versa. I feel like this should be possible and am just missing something minor in my set up. one of the major hurtles has been getting a thru hull transducer (xp9 20) to talk to my solix. i have acquired a spliter cable to go from 9 pins to 14 pins to no avail. any help on this topic would be much appreciated and i will be making a video that describes this struggle in detail. Very Best, Lou
  2. thanks for the help everyone I ended up getting them off shore in the flint with a dt 12 in parot. just took us some time to get on them and catch but we managed to pull a few nice ones out, biggest about 4 pounds and I broke off at least an 8 thank you again Lou
  3. My family and I have been on lake seminole for the past three days and are still fishless. I suspect the cold front that has moved through last week has pushed the fish off their beds and on the the staging areas. We have fished fish pond drain, most of the back waters off of spring creek and some main lake points. Is there something major I'm missin? We've been throwing spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, lizards, jigs, and flipping everything we see. please help save our trip. thank you for your help Lou
  4. I am leaving for georgia in a week with my girlfriend, my dad and my boat in tow. Our destination is lake seminole fishing for Spawning bass. My Father and I both have high expectations that this is shaping up to be a trip of a lifetime. Our goal is to try for something in or close to the double digits weight wise and if it is accomplished we would like to get it mounted. I would love to have the trophy but morally it feels wrong taking something that big out of the system that time of year. Does anyone know of a good place to have replicas made at a good price i would love to surprise my dad with his fish of a life time. Thank you in advance, Lou
  5. Alright buddy hope to see you on the water!
  6. I am sponsorship chair for Penn state's team dm me any questions you have and ill do my best to help you out. first thing I would do is contact your club sports at your school and find out what steps you have to take to make a club. Then finding sponsors is just a matter of emails and not being afraid of hearing no. Lou
  7. I'm looking for a really good quality bass jig to throw next season. Does anyone know of or recommend a company that has really great service and really knows there stuff? Thank you again for all your help
  8. I have been bargain shopping and pulled the trigger on the buy one get two free deal that halo fishing has been running. Just wondering if anyone has any information or has fished these rods? From what I've read they are know for being incredibly stiff even the moderate tapers are meat sticks. The deal was too good to pass up even if they snap on the first boat flip.
  9. Hey guys, I've been fishing ever since I could walk but up until two years ago I've just been walking the bank. Until I finally worked enough to buy a bass boat rigged with electronics and a few rods to throw in the locker. Now halfway through an engineering degree at Pennsylvania State University I joined the bass team to see how I do with tournament fishing. I always want to keep learning about the sport and I feel that this site really helps bring together a ton of knowledge to one place. I am gonna do my best to learn everything I can to become a better fishermen and a more well rounded individual. We are.. PENN STATE!! Lou
  10. Best thing I would say is use a crankbait (between 10’ and 18’) to try and find a few fish then switch to a football jig to try and see what the bottom composition is. At the very least you get a few just messing around and best case you find what they are holding on and can jump around to those types of banks. I fish the Monongahela a lot and where I start is by fishing where the change in bank steepness is. I feel like deeper water is closer to the bank and the bass like to stack up there. I then move to the inside turns of the river mainly for the slower currents and logs like to collect on the bottom. But above all just keep throwing and try to hit something on the bottom with your crank to make them hit. I fished my river with no electronics for about three years before I got my bass boat so it’s not impossible. Keep an eye on the bank and it usually leads you to the fish. Lou
  11. When it starts to get cold I'm downsizing a lot of my baits, smaller football jigs with craw trailers, drop shotting the transition points, and using a wiggle wart when I want to cover water.
  12. It's that time of year again and i'm unspooling a lot of my reels and making christmas wish lists. But I'm also planning a father son spring break trip to lake Seminole. We will have our bass boat in tow and are looking for any help to fool these giant largemouths. We will down there in the second week in march 2016. Does anyone know must have baits or spots that you just need to hit? Thank you in advance for any help and for helping me make this a great weekend for my Dad and I.
  13. Will do might even use them to sell or trade on here to help pay for school.
  14. I have a 19 foot intimidator and a 72 lb thrust minn kota trolling motor that has a lot of play in the attachments. There is less than no room where it gets attached to the haul and really want to put a quick release on it. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to go about this?
  15. but do they give you a better price on them or is it still about 1.50 a bait?
