  1. I have used Nanofil and currently use Gliss. I use Gliss on all of my spinning reels, originally I was using 18lb test and then stepped up to 24. The Gliss is smooth, casts well. I use with and without a leader depending on the circumstances.
  2. Every once in a while I try to relive my visits to England and get a pack of Woodpecker cider. Have to just enjoy them carefully or they will leave you with a nasty hangover. I always preferred a snake bite or a snake bite and black.
  3. Cloudy day, light rain, ripple on the water, throw that 130 and hold on.
  4. LC RC 1.5, Super Spook Jr., and jerkbaits, I use a lot of different baits but the SPRO McStick 110 has produced more fish for me lately.
  5. I probably catch more fish on the powder color than any other, the T1000 color works well in clear water and the bone is not bad either. I do much better on the 130 then I have on the 90.
  6. If that is the Falcon Lake color I was thinking the same thing.
  7. A little of both, all of the Master Angler Awards in KS are based on length so I will measure a fish that I think may qualify. I also like to weigh LMB that I catch that may be close 5 lbs and SMB that I believe will go 3 lbs. Both these sizes of fish are good catches in the lakes I fish.
  8. I have never really seen it make much difference how braided line was spooled on as it typically has no memory. If it were me, before I spent any more money on line I would remove enough line to remove the knots. Connect a swivel to the line and attach it something stationary, walk the line off the reel and then reel it back in. Give it a try like that and see how it goes.
  9. Like Tom said the best Mono line is currently made by Sunline. Defier Armilo for Mono is as close to FC line as you are going to get, but it is relatively expensive. Sunline super natural is less expensive and still has great performance. There are some good reviews of both of these lines out there so do some research on them.
  10. easy peasy lemmon squeezy, just give it a twist
  11. That thumb thing is a good problem to have. Nice catch.
  12. I would just add that most of the tests of line I have seen seem to focus on the amount of total stretch that occurs at breaking strength. Lines do not stretch in a parabolic curve, it is much more important to know the amount of stretch that occurs during the normal course of fishing. The results I have seen do show that FC line stretches much differently than nylon. Too many people only look at the data that supports their claim, rather than looking at the data and interpreting it unbiased.
  13. I remember being a member of a Joint Task Force, Army, Marines and Air Force, looking in the eyes of the guys around me and seeing their pride and determination. The pride I felt being surrounded by amazing Men and understanding that each of us was counting on one another to do our jobs, no one better than another, just a team of men dedicated to performing our task as perfectly as possible with each other in mind. One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had.
  14. I usually target the clearest water available. Seems where there is a mixture of bass the smallmouth always prefer the clearer water with structure.
  15. The older brown gloomis IM6 blanks are surprisingly nice. I have one in a 6ft spinning rod that is super nice to fish with.
  16. I like to fish with humble folks who know their business. The kind of people who share information freely because it helps others. With that said, I have a list of guys I think have demonstrated this character at least in my mind. Ghoti Paul Roberts Clayton Jrob78 Dwight H. JeffH A-Jay Team9nine Deaknh Tim - the Georgia boy I am sure I have missed several others that I have had the opportunity to speak with here and other places that would be nice to spend a day on the water with.
  17. I needed to update the information for my insurance agent so I took a few pictures. 18. What would you like to know? I have owned a couple since they were released. I have left a few comments in other threads regarding the same or similar subject. I have always promoted Pflueger as the leader in cost to value spinning reels, and I own many from the Limited to the Patriarch they are all very nice spinning reels and I have never regretted the purchase of a Pflueger spinning reel. I recently purchased a RG-AB and have used it on a few occasions catching multiple fish in the 3-4 lb range. The performance has been spot on perfect and I have truly enjoyed using it, so much so that I purchased a second and have used it also. I support Pflueger and will continue to do so, but this new reel from Daiwa is every bit the equivalent if not better at the same price than the President. If it were me I would go with the Daiwa, but I can tell you that you would not regret the purchase of the President either.
  19. I don't think it would effect my fishing much if they both were to go out of business. I do use a few of the Rage baits so I will go that way.
  20. Pflueger Supreme, Pflueger President, Daiwa Revros, Diawa RG-AB, lots of great reels out there for under a 100 dollars.
  21. Mojo Rig or a Split Shot rig is a nice finesse style, try it with a 4 1/2 ribbon tail worm and a light wire hook.
  22. Yes, I have two of the 2000 size and they are very nice reels. Very smooth and enjoyable reels to fish with.
  23. Daiwa RG-AB is a little better than the Revros and is only $59. I own many different Pflueger spinning reels and have always pushed them as the best value. I am not so sure any longer, the Revros and RG-AB are both very nice for the money and certainly give Pflueger a run for the best value. I just wanted to add that I am still a huge Pflueger fan and will continue to use their reels.
  24. If you are looking for a rod for a certain technique or just an all around rod don't hesitate to ask questions. Many people here very familar with the G Loomis family of rods.
