  1. Two baits that were designed to do different things. The 110 is a suspending cold water, pre-spawn type bait, fishes about 6-8 ft deep. The 115 besides being longer is also more bulky and floats, some people use it like a twitch bait, it was designed to fish over shallow beds when the fish are protecting them in full on spawn mode. If I was only going to buy 1, it would be the 110. Check out a couple of Mike McClelland video's and he will tell you all about his thoughts on these baits.
  2. Just messing with you, I knew what you meant.
  3. That's strange Darren, I don't see the resemblance between a fish and a swallow.
  4. Is this Hellen Keller? That's a bass. I think the shape of the fish and the color is close. I have seen a lot of juvenile bass and never seen one colored anything like that. I agree that it is most likely a LMB. I made a guess and thought the object was to have a good time with it, not to take the opportunity to insult someone else. Anyway nothing lost either way.
  5. Is this Hellen Keller? That's a bass. Have you ever seen juvenile striped bass?
  6. What do you think the other anglers would say? I doubt many of them are bold enough to say that KVD is only relevant because he is a good salesman. My bet is that his 4 Classic championships, 7 AOY's and winning 20 tournaments at the very highest level have a lot more to do with it. There has never been an angler like KVD and it will be long while in my opinion before we see another.
  7. KVD will remain relevant to the sport as long as he chooses. His sponsors are not going anywhere soon, the man is a cash cow.
  8. juvenile striped bass
  9. Got to see and play with them a little bit at the Classic.
  10. If you're in a boat, try the ned rig and small swimbaits on the dam. Jerkbaits can be very productive also when the water is clear and warm enough. Try the Lucky Strike jerkbait in French Pearl. Good Luck.
  11. It is an interesting theory. I am left wondering why his style was good for multiple AOY and Classic wins, but he rarely finishes in the top 10 lately. Seems that being a victim of his own success may be a bigger part of the picture than some of us realize.
  12. What was his trick in your opinion?
  13. To me choosing a crankbait rod is one of the harder decisions you will have to make in choosing a technique specific rod. One of the big questions is material, are you going to use a carbon fiber, glass, or composite rod, this choice alone can be difficult. After you choose your material then you will need to look at power and action, as well as build materials, warranty, price and the list goes on. Good Luck
  14. Got to meet RC this week at the Classic, it was very cool to get to speak with him a minute. Hope the pic brought back some good memories.
  15. This weekend I got to meet the guy that made this little bait famous. Still works great. Some of you guys that have been around awhile will remember it.
  16. El Dorado has a good SM population but they can be hard to target at times. Between Wilson, Melvern, and Milford, I would choose Melvern for numbers, and it also has some bigger fish as well. Skiatook, NE of Tulsa has a good SM population as well.
  17. What ever you can get someone else to pay for it.....
  18. 734C if you are going to use 3/8oz heads and bait, one of the best and most versatile rods in the Champion series.
  19. The body shape, tooth patch and stripes all suggest a White Bass, def. a hog if that is the case.
  20. If I used grease it would only be enough to put a very thin fingerprint film. I prefer using a heavier oil, 3-4 drops using a Q-tip to to spread the oil onto the rollers. Many greases are just to thick to allow the ARB to work properly.
  21. Many times this problem is the result of using too much oil or grease on the AR bearing. Try re-cleaning the bearing and inner tube and see if that resolves the issue.
  22. I like the Jackall Iobee frog, walks fantastic, no need to modify anything out of the box, just tie it on and go to work.
  23. Take a look at the Pflueger President Limited, good reel for the money.
  24. Very nice fish!
