  1. can we all agree that when were using a jig, a popular technique is yoyoing and draging it , which is to imatate a crawdad? if so than why is it that i have used these techniques with black and blue jigs and have still caught bass? wouldnt a bass know a blue crawdad doesnt exsist? what do you guys think
  2. thanks guys i appriciate the advice. i have a couple more questions. my rod is a 6ft gloomis medium action. ive tried pitching and flipping with it but i cant get my lures out very far. i loosened the freespool and still i can only get my lure out about 10yards. the onlt way i can get the lure farther is if i dont keep the lure close to the water, but than it makes a loud entrance into the water. is my pole too short, or am i doing something wrong?
  3. is shallow cover worth fishing even when its not in the spring? in the lake i fish there are some places with fallen tree branches, over hanging trees, isolated weedpatches, weedlines and isolated rocks, but there all in shallow water. im guessing that the water isnt more than 5ft maybe a little less. should i still take the time to fish this cover? what experiences have you guys had with catching fish in shallow water?
  4. i forgot the mention the type of cover, its mostly milfoil.
  5. im guessing that the deepest spot of the lake is 25ft, and thats way out in the middle of the lake. there are a couple drop offs that go from 3ft to about 12ft. the water is actually lower than normally because the spillway is open. water clarity is about 3 or 4 feet. the lake is pretty shallow, its about10-15 ft deep between the bank and 20yards out in almost all the spots. ive been fishing all over the lake its not that big, you can walk all the way around in 20minutes probably. but ive been using jigs, senkos n spinnerbaits mostly
  6. theres a lake called lake anza. im not sure if any of you know where that is but if you do i need some advice. during the spring i found the lake and noticed that there were some lunkers in there spawning. ive been fishing there lately with no luck. what should i do? i know theres fish in there but ive tried every technique i know and still havent been catching much. i fished there pretty much all last week and only caught one small 2and a hlf pounder. please help, any advice would be nice, thanks
  7. is there a way 2 wacky rig and not hang up so much?
  8. sorry for the mistakesabove more* and i read the pages from this site*
  9. everything that i read on says that the less u do the ore action u will get
  10. i thought that reaction strikes come from when a lure enters a bass strike zone without the bass seeing it come
  11. so the senko is moving correctly?
  12. when ever i try 2 pitch my range is small only about 10 to 12 yards if i try any harder my pole will hit the floor. is there a betterway 2 get more distance besides losening up on the cast control?
  13. when i fish the senko and it hits the bottom without a strike people say 2 lift and drop and i tried that but when i did that in water that i could see my senko it did not wiggle for about 5 seconds it first goes back and forth and if this is what its doing in shallow water it must be doing the same thing in deep water. are my worms defective or is that how they move? is there a way to make the senko wiggle when it first starts sinking or does it have 2 go back and forth first? and do any of u guys catch fish on the sink when it goes back and forth or is it that the senko has 2 be wiggleing 2 be effective?
  14. how effective is flipping and pitching senkos and spinnerbaits?if your piptching a senko and dont get a strike on the fall should u reel it in and pitch it somewhere else because i thought when your pitching its more of a fast pace way. and do u think a spinnerbait would be good for pitching? im asking because its something a bass has never seen before because most anglers will bust out the jigs when pitching
  15. 2 get reaction strikes with lures like jig and pigs and senkos and all that do u have 2 present the lure quietly? and my second question is how do u skip a lure quietly? i saw a pro fishing my lake and he was skipping senkos under and around the boat docks and when the lure went into the water is barley made a splash
  16. i was wondering if theres a way 2 fish senkos in really thick weeds.when i cast the senko wont sink enless its in a hole but if i dont get a bit on the initial fall wat should i do because i cant lift and drop or shake it without getting alge and weeds on the senko
  17. i normally fish the side by the small waterfall and right before it theres a small sand bar that i like 2 stand on but lately the weeds have been growing so thick that its hard 2 fish that spot. i normally pitch senkos in the holes but if i dont get a bite on the initial fall wat should i do because i cant lift and drop without getting alge on the senko?
  18. i tried fishing the jig and senko with not a whole lot of luck. i got 1 fish about 3lbs and 2 otheres about 14inches.the senko was really ineffective. normally i use the senko on cover but at this lake all the cover was in water about 2and a half feet deep.every where esle had thick weeds that the senko could not be retreived through. is there any techniques for using a senko on thick weeds because all i could do was let it sink through a whole in the weeds and bring it back in if nothing
  19. i was wondering wat the best tactic is for really really thick weeds.i ask because i was fishing 2 day and i came across a cove with really thick weeds.i first tried pitching senkos but the weeds were so thick it would not sink so i tried a texas rig but i could notpull it along the bottom without getting weeds caught on the worm. the last thing i tried was a jig but like the other tactics i could not retrieve it much before getting weeds caught on it.
  20. on thursday im going 2 fish lake anza from 3 oclock to 7 with some friends.were trying 2 c who can catch the most and the biggest and i was wondering if you guys(or gurls) have any tips or pointers for a amature like me . the lake is really small you can walk around the whole thing in about 18 minutes and the water is about 5 feet lower than normal because they open the spill way.i was thinking about starting with a 5in senko using the lift and drop technique . questions 1)the glide and drop is my go 2 tactic with a senko so if that doesnt work wat should i do? 2)the lakes low where should i target first? the deepest place i can find? 3)is it good 2 use fast moving lures like spinnerbait in the summer when the bass are sluggish 2 first locate them? 4)how good are senkos for dead sticking? because i thought they were only good for when the sink not being dragged all responses will be appriciated
  21. when your using a senko and a bass follows the bait down on the drop but wont take it wat should u do? this happened 2 me . i tried lifting and droping and changing colors but it didnt work
  22. wat type of lure and technique are good for sight fishing?
  23. for catching bass in the summer do u mostly target deep water or stay fishing cover in the shallows?
  24. when your looking for bass wats the best things 2 look for? the only thing i know 2 look for is variations in weed lines and cover like branches sticking out of the water. Is there anythignelse I should look for?
