  1. Ah, ok, so no factory fuse buried in the hull, your experience was the overloaded factory wiring/circuit. Thank you Sir...
  2. Hi, I actually had one of these boats 25 years ago. There’s a fuse inside the hull that can’t be replaced? On my last boat I had a pair of Group 27 batteries mounted under the rear seat run in parallel to a fuse at the battery boxes, to the internal wiring to the front. If there’s a non-replaceable fuse in the hull I need a smaller fuse mounted at the battery. Any idea what size the fuse on your box is? If the stock fuse can’t handle the 55, I’ll just drop to the 45 version. Anyone else have that problem? I’ll be fishing alone 99% of the time and like to sit in the front. Also, what’s the difference in the 10E and your NXT? thank you .
  3. Greetings, I am putting a manual trolling motor on the front of my 10e that I will manually operate from the front seat. What length shaft do I want to put the extended handle at a comfortable height? 36”? thanks?
  4. Wrong place, sorry... .
  5. Adhesive Velcro tape from Lowes, etc.
  6. You need to go the the DNR office to register it. Google Maryland DNR. Good luck
  7. For those who don't have a stocking store close by, Dicks has a $90 shipping special for the next week or so. Sure beats the $392.81 shipping they would normally charge me here in Maryland.
  8. I saw that lift and sure wouldn't want to hang a 150 lb boat or 250 lbs with battery, motor, etc. from it. It's designed for a 20 lb bike. especially with a car and/or people under it.
  9. Construct something like this. This one is available at Dick's sporting goods for $30 but is only rated at 100 lbs. You could use a small boat winch to operate it. I would construct a small flat wooden cradle wider than the boat width to go under the boat so that the straps don't squeeze the sides of the boat in over time. good luck. [/IMG]
  10. There's a review from February on that site saying that he used it to repair a Pelican boat and it worked well. Curious how he said that it has held up for a year yet he left the review last month. Good luck...
  11. Pelican states that the Ram-x hulls can only be properly repaired by (poly/plastic) welding. I would question if even fiberglass resin would adhere long term, and it's pretty aggressive stuff.
  12. Hi Dave, PVC is meant to pass fluids not be a structural component although some use it in moderation. So I drove 400 miles to Erie, pa for some Steelhead fishing, on Saturday I stopped by the Dicks store in Erie, zero 10e,s. Did not make it to the new Field and Steam store there. My local store virtually never has them. I'll be driving 65 miles to check another store this week. We,ll see what happens..,,.
  13. Thank you Dave, I'll have to wait until next week as I'm headed north later this week for a date with some Steelhead.
  14. LOL, yep, absolutely an obsession, we all tend to dream how to make them ours, and add our personal touches, that's a big part of the fun for many of us.
  15. Completely agree that fir-based marine plywood is far superior and appropriate for exposed, finished products. Given that its cost approaches $80-$90 per sheet vs pressure treated at $30, I somehow didn't think that the majority of folks here would see the value of the upgrade for a floor that is to be carpeted in a boat that most have paid $100-$600 for.
  16. I'm growing to really dislike Dick's Sporting goods. I've been trying to buy a Pelican at my local store since October with no luck. The people I speak with seem knowledgable and all state that they have no visibility to stock they will be receiving. If I order from Dicks.com there is a $381 shipping charge with 2-8 week shipping time, if I order it delivered to the store, they say shipping is about $50 less (same 2-8 weeks), vs zero shipping if it's in stock. My option is to drive to a store that shows 'limited' stock which is 50-70 miles one way. I don't care so much about the drive and will have to pull a trailer, but I would have to call first and ask if it's really there, if it's damaged in any way, etc., drive there and ...hope... what I was told is accurate. I envision a 3 hour round trip only to find out it really isn't there, they just accidently sold it, or that it's damaged. Geez.
  17. If it were me I would just purchase a sheet of pressure treated plywood and not worry about it again. Good luck.
  18. Don't forget your boat numbers and sticker.
  19. Looks very good, should make it easy to move around.
  20. 2 ~big guys = 10 foot boat. good luck.
  21. Could you locate 2 large 'pins' under the platform that would drop into the front rod holders? As you know, the further outside the boat's centerline you distribute your weight the less stable the boat becomes. Here you go, though I'm not really sure of its value. Not a 10e but pretty close
  22. Does the Dicks by you have any more? I'm in Laplata 20646 and seems that I will need to drive at least to No. Va. I called my local store 3 weeks ago and they indicated they have no way to predict when boats will arrive in their store. Thanks
  23. Looks good above. How does everyone store your car keys, phone, wallet, etc. when in the boat? A small float bag tied to the boat? Thanks
